The Siberia, California chapter of the Santa Fe historical society which, is more than likely one person with a fair amount of time on their hands and a large amount of Montana Black on hand at all times; presents a colorful display to look at as railfans and wary travels roll through the heart of the Mojave Desert. And yeah I know graffiti's bad because of a litany of reasons and blah blah blah, but come on it could have been some dumb scribble that only other taggers could read. Twenty-seven has a couple of railroad themed bangers out here to, so more or less it is what you make of it, just like Skeleton-Bat or Bat-Skeleton.

Downfall Chapter X: An Unlikely Savior

(The Old Man in the Mountain)

—-BEGIN TRANSMISSION—

It has been a couple of months since we have lost contact with command. The Emperor was lost and the last transmission we received told us to continue our work, alllllll the way from the top. Whispers of complete destruction of garrisons had been going around, morale is lower than ever. The things we do here cannot be talked about on this recording, I do not know who will be left to discipline me if we do though. Prior to the loss of communication we had a small presence in the region taxing and taking cargo from the locals. But after the command structure fell we retreated into the mountains in order to protect the research being conducted here. What we are doing here is more important than what in my opinion was terrorizing the locals. I always thought that what we were doing outside of the facility was an excuse to have a large presence here, to feign ignorance. There's nothing we can do from here besides let the scientists continue their work. I feel the guilt eating away for everything we have done…I've had too much time to think. However, more concerning is the fact that pirates have run rampant throughout the villages around us and the almighty new republic is nowhere to help them. Their poorly trained militia cannot repel the attacks, they are easy pickings for anyone looking to make some quick credits. Scouts reported that they recently moved to a village near us, I think I’ll take my squad down and deal with it personally. After all I can’t have us finding our work up here. Perhaps I’ll be able to sleep at night, my conscience might be a little lighter. I am a leader after all, the only thing left I can do is lead my troopers. I don't think they will thank us but I will try anyway. My troopers haven't had any action in a few rotations. It will be good for morale. I half hope it's for the last time. I am old, I didn’t think my final days would be stuck up in the mountains. For the fallen…..for the Empire.

@Chapter Four (4th of December)

The chapter house was the most important part of the abbey after the church. Here the monks would be read a chapter from the rule of St Benedict (hence Chapter House), confess their faults and be punished by the abbot. Day to day business for the abbey would also be carried out here. This part of the abbey dates from approximately 1400

Hello there!

Today I would like to show you the fourth part of my Mandalorian project. I had a lot of fun with it. My main idea was to show the scene where Omera is trying to take off the Mando's helmet. Otherwise I was so excited because finally I could use a lot of plant parts. I wanted to keep the wild climate of Sorgan, so I decided to create a straw-hatched house. I hope you will like it! Thanks!

In our household our hearts are turning towards Christmas and the greatest story ever told. My younger sister is a talented singer/songwriter and on her latest album (a Christmas album - check it out on iTunes: apple.co/21GQ524) she shared a song she wrote by the name "Luke Chapter 2". I had that song in mind when I thought of the concept of this image. The Bible opened to Luke Chapter 2 and the story of the birth of Jesus with the lights of Christmas blazing in bokeh beyond. I tried a few different approaches, but settle on this SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 lens with a single Metz 64 AF-1 flash and a Lite Genius Super Scoop II defuser a ways behind the camera so that the light would be soft by the time it hit the bright white pages of the Bible. The end result is pretty cool, I think, and is almost straight out of camera.

Technical Information: Canon EOS 6D, SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4, Processed in Adobe Lightroom CC, Photoshop CC, and Alien Skin Exposure X (use code "dustinabbott" to get 10% off)

With bars across its doors, this empty barn sits out its last chapter in life amongst the splendor of green and rolling hills. Fortunate are those people after an active life who can live their last chapter in pleasant surroundings with pleasant memories.

Light Painted with a torch. Done by standing behind one pillar, counting for 3 seconds covering the torch then moving behind the other pillar to back light that one.

I nearly walked into the other pillar a couple of times when trying to get this right! probably my fave shot from the night though!

Here I’m proudly present to you my chapter 11 creation of the disney+ series STAR WARS THE MANDALORIAN:

[…]

Before embarking on the mission, Din visits the Frog Lady and Frog Man. He convinces them to babysit the Child. Before leaving, he warns the Child to behave himself and show his hosts respect. The Frog Lady allows the Child to watch the casket of eggs as the first spawn emerge.

At dawn, the Gozanti-class cruiser departs Trask, flying at low speed. The Mandalorians fly behind the freighter and take out the stormtroopers guarding it, throwing them overboard. One of the stormtroopers manages to warn the rest of the crew about the presence of "pirates." At the bridge, the Imperial captain informs the bridge crew that they are dealing with pirates as one of the stormtroopers is thrown against the cockpit window. The captain orders his stormtroopers to guard the hall and the bridge crew to seal the hatch.

The Nite Owls and Din Djarin force their way inside the ship and fight more stormtroopers. More stormtroopers arrive and the Mandalorians fight their way through the hallway of the ship towards the cockpit. In the cockpit, the Captain asks what is going on and how many are there. The stormtrooper says it is hard to say and believes that there are at least ten intruders. The deck officer says that the live readings only pick four foreign lifeforms. The stormtrooper warns that they are Mandalorians before being taken out in combat…

The great spirits had given the princess a magical land sprinkled with many playthings. She loved the colors and movement of the flying and swimming creatures, the strange shapes and textures of those who grew from the ground. She was enchanted with the sparkle of the sun-orb and the romance of the moon and star dance.

Sometimes a traveler would wander through and she would delight in their wonder of it all. There was much warmth and laughter in the land as she showed them around. Yet, as time went by, the visitors eyes became dim and they forgot to respect the beauty and charm of the great spirits offerings. She ached as they would be blown back to the plainer lands where they had strayed from. She liked sharing her joys with visitors and was always so sad to see them go.

The princess harbored a secret wish to find the worthy traveler she had heard of who never forgot, whose pockets were filled with surprises and haunting sounds. She imagined a great many adventures could be had with this stranger. She didn't know what land they would hail from, what their appearance could be. It was a lovely dream she took out and looked at from time to time.

I am thrilled to have this platinum print chosen to be shown at the PNW 40 show at LightBox Gallery in Astoria, Oregon, beginning April 13th.

Lacock Abbey is the home of Henry Fox Talbot, considered to be the Father of Photography. he invented the process of using salt to fix an image to paper, in 1839. I was excited to make a pilgrimage to his home. Who wouldn't be inspired living in an Abbey.
