Un photographe et un chapeau à Arles.

from the other day. catching up on a few potd uploads + a few more.

this was one of those really exciting photo days. but i did manage to get a decent shot of one of the doggie's eyeballs. that was unexpected and cool at the same time. hard to tell what you are seeing in the reflection.. but it is part of my kitchen & a tiny bit of me in the corner :)

next up.. a wee trip to the castro.

Caleb and El Chapo came to CAT from New Mexico. Caleb is 2 years old and El Chapo a bit under a year old, but they became great friends at the New Mexico shelter and stayed that way here. I didn't get any photos of them snuggling (although I saw it) or grooming (which was attested by other volunteers). Caleb chatted, and El Chapo purred, his way into the hearts of a nice couple who took them home together 13 March 2018.

This year it fancied me trying these well known fireworks of my home town so I looked for a hidden spot far away from crowd ...no edition on this ... ! cheers !

Last Sunday after a cold and rainy week we had for the first time a sunny day, what opportunity to go to make some shots. In the morning went out to Lake Chapo area lots of snow in the mountains and like spring blue sky just perfect. Later in the evening the plan was to go to the coast facing the Pacific Ocean to take pictures of sunset. Back home in Puerto Varas after reviewing the photos thinking not just about the wonders offered by this part of the country beyond made me wonder...how many regions of the world could you shoot landscapes of snowy mountains and sunset by the sea in less of one hour ..!?. In this one a beautiful sunset in Metri fishing village near Puerto Montt shooting that day.

Lake Chapo is a turquoise pre-mountain lake of glacial origin, located at 240 meters above sea level, 40 km northeast of Puerto Montt and 110 km southeast of Puerto Varas. It is located between the Alerce Andino National Park and the Llanquihue Natural Reserve, so it offers a very beautiful view of both the mountains that surround it and the lush vegetation of the place. It is the only lake in the Puerto Montt commune. Since 1990, it has had to endure the devastating effects of a basin transfer, producing an ecological imbalance without return associated with the operation of the Canutillar hydroelectric plant.

In the photograph we observe the reflection of the Milky Way in the lake, along with the Carina Nebula, the Southern Cross and the Galactic Center, as well as the airglow that dyes the scene red.

The only opportunity in the south of Chile to be able to portray this beautiful star, it was worth the sacrifice and the anxious wait, now we face a storm that does not give way to respite.

When I lost all hope of being able to see it, it appears on the mountain in the town of Lago Chapo, in the south of Chile, first I see its beautiful tail that is little by little rising, and when it appears it gives the sensation of kissing the mountain.
