***Shark Week at Rogue Wave July 5 - 11, 2024***
Explorers, travelers, shark enthusiasts, salty dogs, and dance floor warriors, you are invited to Shiny Starchild’s Shark Week at Rogue Wave! Forget everything you know about sharks and prepare to party surrounded by the sea’s apex predators. And don’t worry, these sharks are more interested in your dance moves than your limbs.
Starting Friday, July 5, and swimming through Thursday, July 11, we’re turning the tides against the mundane with different ferocious DJs each night. Ever wanted to ride a mako shark while busting a move? How about boogieing with a thresher shark? This is your chance. We’ve got it all – silly shark fins, ridiculous shark dances, and the most absurd shark avatars you can imagine. It’s like Sharknado met a rave and decided to have a baby.
And let’s give a big shout-out to the real heroes here: those who bite others. Did you know the annual number of shark bites worldwide is ten times less than the number of people bitten by others in New York City? That’s right, folks. We’re more dangerous than sharks. So this party is in their honor – the true predators of the urban jungle. :P
Between the laughs and the beats, we’re also flipping the script on shark conservation. These magnificent creatures face threats from overfishing and ocean degradation, and while we’re busy impersonating them and having a blast, let’s not forget they need our help to survive.
So, grab your snorkels, slap on those fins, and dive into the deep end with us. Shiny Starchild’s Shark Week at Rogue Wave – because nothing says “I love sharks” like a wild, underwater dance party!

Our Shark Week extravaganza is so hot it’s practically boiling the ocean, and with a homestead limit of just 25 Avis at Rogue Wave, we’re expecting some of you might be left floundering at the gates.
But fear not fellow fin fans! Thanks to our fantastic partners – JT Castanea & Megs Castanea, the same ocean-loving folks behind the OCWA Secondlife nonprofit, we’ve got a second wave for you at One Love Beach. Even if Rogue Wave maxes out, you can teleport your tailfins to One Love Beach. We’re streaming the music sim-wide, so you can surf, chill on the beach, and soak up the vibes without missing a beat.
So, no bellyaching about the homestead limits, okay? This is a two-location event united by music, the ocean, and the unyielding spirit of Shark Week! Dive into the fun, spread out, and make some waves together. #ChaosMagic

There have been several iterations of the piece already and the artists are open to devising and delivering more iterations each one adapted to be site and issue specific.
