When I think of #DepthOfField, I always think of prayer beads or mala. I think of #DepthOfField in this way because like chanting, it is like picking one point to focus on, like mindfulness and staying in the moment with one breath. So it seemed like an easy choice for me to do. Anyway, this was an easy Flickr Friday for me.
This image was taken in RAW and processed in Linux using RawTherapee.
The dark chanting goshawk is a medium-sized, bulky hawk with an upright stance. The head, breast and upperparts are essentially dark grey, while the underparts, other than the breast, are white, finely barred with black. The wing primaries are black, and the tail has broad black and white bars. The cere and the long legs are orange-red. The female is, on average, larger than the male, weighing up to 840g to the male's maximum weight of 700g. Juveniles tend to have browner plumage reminiscent in colour and pattern to a buzzard Buteo spp but with the broad winged, long tailed silhouette of an accipiter. I made this character for the great little fighter-flip-book Till Thomas edited and made.
It’s riso-printed and stuffed with funny and furious characters from a lot of great artists.
The book will be released with an exhibition at the Small Press Explorer in Hamburg next week.
But: You can already purchase it at the Comicfestival in Helsinki this week-end at the Treasure-Fleet-Table!!!

We saw this beautiful pale chanting goshawk in a tree along the road and it was willing to pose for a while allowing some nice close ups!
