Attached are the photos taken at ECCCM (Eastern Catawba Cooperative
Christian Ministry) where our UMYF worked to sort food and clothing and
organize shelves ready to serve those in need. Rev. Bob Silber, Executive
Director, states "we don't give a hand out, we give folks a hand up".
Our youth and their leaders are always ready to serve and work in various
capacities with ECCCM, along with other local ministry needs.
Please let me know if you are in need of additional information relating to
this event or the photos taken.
Thank You,

Attached are some pictures of our Change the World Day we held on April 30th
at our Community Park. It was a combined effort of West Independence, East
Mt. Zion, Vanlue Christ, and Arcadia UMC's. We held a Mobile Food Pantry
distributing 10,000 pounds of food to 152 families in our area! This was a
first time event but we have another scheduled for September 17, 2011.
Thanks for offering this event to local churches!
Grace and Peace!

Students Serving their Community: Ginghamsburg teens will be participating in two βChange the Worldβ initiatives on April 24. In partnership with Catholic Social Services and its Youth Service Day, students in grades 9-12 will go on mission in Dayton to serve at a local soup kitchen for the homeless and hungry called Target Dayton. Saturday night, Ginghamsburg teens will spend the chilly April night out on the Ginghamsburg Main Campus lawn under mosquito nets to raise awareness for World Malaria Day.
During IHE's Summer Institute, each student gives a 20-minute presentation on a humane education topic or issue. Dustin had students try out several short group activities that are great for helping their students connect, relax, and engage.
As long as there are those who wag the dog and wave the imperialist flag, we will instead raise a cry for solidarity. #NoWar #Syria #Yemen #Palestine

Thinking on our post from Saturday, it seemed a bit of a modification was asking to be made...Art Young's "Last Appeal"...now with colors...
