"we have a chance in which there are no rules"

🎶🎶🎶

You do not do any favors on loving someone

Neither me, neither me

Who invented love was not me

It was not me, was not me

Nor me or anyone else

Love happens in life

You were off guard and by chance I was too

And as chances are important, darling

Of our lives, life also made a chance

Since I am very lucky to have a lot of wild life and especially birds at home and around it automatically it attracts predators...

Last year, I dug the snow and set up my little camouflage tent, which I adapted with a bed white sheet and diaper pins to hold it to try to blend in with the snow. I wanted to try to capture birds in flight with my new R5 camera and also be more discreet in case it (the Northern Shrike) just happened to show up around my feeders installation # 2 on the shores of the lake where the light is favorable part of the day and the favorite hunting spot for small birds for the Shrike. I had the opportunity to observe this superb Northern Shrike several times during my photography sessions. It even attacked Evening Grosbeaks successfully to my surprise although here favorite preys were much smaller birds and mouses. What I can tell you with certainty is that it is very fast and very skittish bird of prey...

Ps If you're wondering why I don't post more on Flickr and that I had neglected the media, well this morning I only have 0.06 Mbps of Download and 0.04 Mbps of Upload at home... It's a long time to post and comment on your photos every day...

an image from the beginning of our journey 8 days ago which pretty much sums up the emotion of being on Icelandic roads.

A Chance Encounter..

Peaches.. The smell of peaches captured my attention..

It was unusual for such a crisp autumn day

Looking up from my usual coffee and paper morning routine to find its source..

I saw her.. she was young.. yet elegantly dressed with a sophisticated presence..

She was struggling with a huge great Dane.. which gave me a chuckle as he did not want to walk any further and he was clearly winning the argument.

She sat down and ordered ..I glanced back at my paper, but something about her demanded my attention..

A slight breeze blew by as she tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ears..

I grabbed my sketch book and tried to capture her in that moment..

I began to wonder.. let my mind drift and a story began to form.. surprising myself as many months had past without any.

Words.. began to flow it was difficult to keep up with..

I look up.. she had gone.. small sense of disappointment flashed across my mind.. but smiling knowing the story had just begun.

Last night

Can't remember

What happened?

Where'd we go?

I woke up

This morning..

Where's my car? Where's my keys? Where's my clothes?

I feel my head's still spinning

But I'm doing alright

'Cuz I think I just had the best night of my life.

Last night,

Can't remember

What happened? Did it happen? Last night

And did I get the chance to say that I wanted you to stay?

There's things I can't explain, 'cuz my brain don't work that way.

Don't call this a one night stand. No, it wasn't planned.

Wasn't in my head but I just wanna do it again and again and again just like...

the start and the end .

Quelle chance de pouvoir assister à la toilette de cet épervier mâle à domicile lorsqu'il s'est posé sur la bâche d'hivernage de la piscine.

What a chance to be able to attend the toiletting of this male sparrowhawk at home when it landed on the wintering pool cover.

Chances are, if you've spent any amount time outside in Arizona you've had an encounter with Coues whitetail deer (Odocoileus virginianus couesi).look for this small, beautiful subspecies of whitetail native to Arizona and the desert southwest.

Great titles do nothing Beautiful slogans mean nothing Love is a sentimental hodgepodge Write, look, die, fight, then lose it We're familiar with battles and numbers We've got no chance to win alone This sick ambition up closle will turn any plan into ashes We're familiar with battles and numbers We've got no chance to win alone And it's not worth it anymore, we've become void There's an emptiness all around, maybe we'll fill it up We'll replace sweet lies with truth The emptiness will disappear, we'll fill it up together Out of breath The pulse quickens Out of breath The pulse quickens Great titles do nothing They'll not see their own pride The ego got lost in its thoughts, exits, profits Too much loss In love with numbers, drinks, exposed to another shot This sick ambition up closle will turn any plan into ashes We're familiar with battles and numbers We've got no chance to win alone And it's not worth it anymore, we've become void There's an emptiness all around, maybe we'll fill it up We'll replace sweet lies with truth The emptiness will disappear, we'll fill it up together And it's not worth it anymore, we've become void There's an emptiness all around, maybe we'll fill it up We'll replace sweet lies with truth The emptiness will disappear, we'll fill it up together Out of breath The pulse quickens Out of breath The pulse quickens

The mother leopard, Kabosso, hurries her 3 month old cub along and out of danger. She was moving him to a safer location away from a group of hyenas. They would kill the youngster if given a chance.

Shot outside the Boutique New Deal at Hazenstraat 18, 1016 SP Amsterdam, Netherlands.

This is a look back on a photo I took from 2018 in Waterton Canyon Colorado. I have not had a chance to get out this year to photograph the autumn colors. So you get an oldie but goodie imho.

Reflection of the covered walkway on the north end of Oberer See in downtown Böblingen Germany. I waited a long time to get a shot where the lake was silky smooth and finally got my chance earlier this evening after going to dinner.

...driving down a local country lane to capture frost and fog saw these Roe Deer running across a field knowing they would cross this track,so jumped out of the car and quickly took this-very much-grab shot!

Who says the Pacific Northwest is always cold and gray. Especially during a fantastic sunset.

I am always on the lookout for a good sunset. For me a good sunset needs some clouds to give it just the right pop. Chances tonight were 50/50. I think I won.

While I've shot this location several times before I finally feel like this is post worthy.

India

During my trip to India I got chance to visit few places for birding. With my friend Anupam Dash I visited Bhitarkanika (Only place in India where you can find all seven species of kingfishers) Mangroves for kingfishers and Manglajodi wetland for mostly waders and waterfowls. Both these locations are vast and home ground for Anupam. He has been working at thease both locations from decades. He has trained his team member as boat operators and they work with him seamlessly to put the boat at right place and angle to get perfect position for shot as he directs. He is amazing to know the active spots in that vast area at particular time and season. His team takes very little time to reach to place where action is going on considering huge area to cover. Although I was little late in season, he was able to find good number of species for me. If you are visiting any place in India or those places for bird photography, I highly recommend joining Anupam. A big thanks my friend. Here is Bluethroat we photographed at Manglajodi.

Hiya all! Im only getting a chance to tell you something about this pic now, as I had to head out early this morning and Im just back.

The view shows the beautiful village of Laragh in the middle distance and looking straight towards the monastic city of Glendalough.

The mountain on the left is Derrybawn. and on the right is Brockagh,Straight ahead is Camaderry and the large one at the very back is Lughnaquilla, which is the 2nd highest mountain in Ireland at 931m. Lugnaquilla is called after the God," Lugh [Lew] of the strong left arm ". Now I dont know why his left arm should be stronger than his right arm, but apparently he never got married and Im told there are only two types of men in this World, the man who says he dosent and the man who says he gave it up!!!! And no, Im not explaining that one to you!!

Anyway, this is a very unusual view as not many people have climbed this way. Im grateful to my friend Jim who knows all these amazing places. To me it is beautiful beyond words and I fill up every time I look at it. Its probably the history I share with this place.

Im really delighted that you like this snap as its just as I took it from the camera. With such beauty, why you would ever need to do anything to it.

Hope your weekend is super!!!!!

Plenty of anglers out this morning along the Rhode Island coastline. Poles and buckets and plenty of gulls waiting for their chance for a free meal.

A cold day, despite the sunshine, so the Thanksgiving snow still lingers. Everything is under a frozen white blanket and the forecast for each day has included a "chance of snow flurries"....feels like Winter. Almost time to begin the Spring countdown!

Happy Fence Friday, my friends, have a warm and wonderful weekend! :)

A Fox cub which we came across this morning, it is not a perfect shot by any means it was a lucky shot as I had my camera with the beast on tucked under my arm and swung around very quickly to take a shot, settings were all over the place but after some work I have this image, not perfect but am thrilled to to have seen this little fox cub.

just happened to come by when I was done cleaning my camera lens

Every sunset has its own beauty. Sometimes it's the clouds that make the scene spectacular. Sometimes it's the sun that dives into the sea. Sometimes it's just the warmth you get from the colors and the feeling that you are the viewer of one of nature's most spectacular sights. You don't have to think about composition rules, settings and POVs. The beauty is there.. All you have to do is hit the shutter speed and forget about the rest.. chances are that you just captured something amazing.

Just to let you know, the Loon rescue team have advised that a channel opened up in the ice and the last 3 Loons presumably left

8 out of 10 are now hopefully doing well out in clear water.

My third annual attempt to capture a fuchsia.

This is getting closer to where I wanted to be with this subject. It's still not exactly what I wanted, but maybe I'll get another chance this year :). The colors of this flower are so vivid and the curves of the shape are so delicate that it's worth the extra effort.

As with many of my flower macros, this was shot on a light table and was illuminated from behind.

This photo is a depth stack of 6 separate images, each of which focuses at a slightly different distance. I was shooting at f/32 to get maximum depth of field, but even then, when the nearest element was in focus, the farthest was out of focus and vice versa. The solution is to shoot multiple images at different focal lengths and then composite them in a Photoshop depth stack.
