Statue of Samuel de Champlain, in the grounds of the National Gallery in Ottawa. Champlain (1580-1635) was a French navigator, cartographer, draughtsman, soldier, explorer, geographer, ethnologist, diplomat and chronicler. He founded Quebec City on July 3, 1608, and served as its administrator and governor of New France for the rest of his life.

Lake Champlain, photo taken from the NY side, facing out towards Vermont. I took this photo as I was killing time waiting for the Ferry to arrive to take us across to Burlington. I stacked a 4-stop ND and CP to get the glassy water effect.
