Night shot of Chamber Street, where, on the 13th of April 1891, the body Frances Coles was found in one of the railway arches on this street. The arch where it happened is just on the left, but obviously it is blocked off by this construction barrier. It is where the pole is just before the car.
She wasn't considered a victim of Jack the Ripper, & was the last unsolved murder in the East End of London in the police files collectively known as the Whitechapel Murders.
The street still has an eerie feeling about it, especially at night.

One of my favorite Minnesota inventions: the Screaming Chamber. It’s not mine, but a friend’s up north, made of extra wood playground platforms (remember when big, wood playgrounds were all the rage in the late 80’s?). The idea is that you go in the sauna and when you come out you stand on top and scream into the woods as you pour cold water on yourself. It’s great for when you don’t have a lake to jump in.

Enough of the cheerful flower shots and back to grim bunkers..
This one was in mouldering away, hidden in the sand dunes along St. Ouen's bay. I had to fight my way through shrubs and weeds higher than my head to get to the entrance, so I don't think it had been visited in a long time.
You can see more in the picture than I could see in reality - those rooms beyond were in pitch darkness. There was something particularly disturbing about the rusting pipes.
Despite hauling a reasonably short (by PN Intermodal standards) train, the heavy EMD throb of AN5 echoed and reverberated up and down Glenbrook Gorge long before the train arrived, and long after they went into Glenbrook Tunnel. You'd be forgiven for thinking the NR on the front was just along for the ride!

The Audience Chamber, also known as the Chamber of Petitions (Arz Odası), is right behind the Gate of Felicity. This square building is an Ottoman kiosk, surrounded by a colonnade of 22 columns supporting the large roof with hanging eaves. The building dates from the 15th century. The ceiling of the chamber was painted in ultramarine blue and studded with golden stars. The walls were lined with blue, white and turquoise tiles.[58] The chamber was further decorated with precious carpets and pillows. The chamber was renovated in 1723 by Sultan Ahmed III.
