When I was young, we had no school on Thursday and to give me something useful to do, my Grand-ma used to say "Let's go and polish the silverware". This sugar pot was my favourite piece and I painted it some many many years after
i wanted to add my painting here, but don't know how to do ! So I uploaded it apart !

I feel that such plants and flowers challenge the hard nature of the desert. They fight the fact that there is not enough water to grow and blossom.
I see this as a challenge between life and death. It is a kind of a survival game.
I learn a lot from my picnics here and there. One of the best lessons I get from such a photo is that in the most hard conditions, there is still a lot of hope if you are strong enough.
This lesson s clearly set in the Qura'n

Saturday Self Challenge
The next challenge will be "Keys and Keyholes". You can photograph either keys or Key holes, or even both keys and keyholes! Color and black and white accepted. Process any way you wish, as well.
I looked for suitable keyholes and failed so I had to settle for these 3 keys. The one on the left, the ‘ancient’ key is Roman, it’s from my Roman collection and dates to the 2nd century AD. The middle one the ‘old’ key we believe to be from the late 18th or early 19th century. The ‘modern’ key on the right is around 15 years old, from a UPVC door on what was my mother’s house.
The two older keys are in my opinion much more interesting than the new one. I’ve used the top of one of my husbands hand made fishing tackle boxes as the backdrop.

Military Odyssey Show Maidstone Kent.
This show of Military Odyssey celebrates it’s 17th year, with groups covering a vast period of global history.
This was an ideal opportunity to capture some vintage images for our groups October printed challenge.
This is typical of a rural police station set up for the WW2 duration and into the post war years.

For TGW and the Monthly Contest
Britannia felt her status as Most Powerful Armor in the World was slipping, so her designers hit the drawing board.
The Challenger features a 125mm Smoothbore main cannon. Loading is mechanically aided, and a stabilization feature allows for firing on the move.
Her secondary weapon is a .50 Caliber HMG on a flex mount with blast shield.
350mm sloped armor provides a solid defense from all but the heaviest calibers, and with the onset of rockets the turret roof has been armored as well.
Twin Diesel Turbines power the Challenger up to 40mph on road, 33mph off road with a max range of 300 miles before refueling. The optional fuel drums increase that to 530 miles while providing a possible explosive mounted to the turret.
Diesel turbines were chosen for their increased fuel efficiency, as well as their lower exhaust temperatures, which not only lowers their standout on thermal based optics, but it allows troops to use the rear of the tank as cover without exhaust burns.
The access hatches on the armor skirt allow quick repairs while keeping defense high.
And the over all slimmer profile from the Epitome provides a smaller target at range.
Finally, internal storage is provided for all 4 crew members to carry Roscram rifles.

Le centimètre de couturière me semblait plus approprié que la règle plate, car il montre que le temps qui passe peut être sinueux. Mon échelle de temps s'arrête à 64, c'est juste pour que ça loge dans le photo, ma vie sera beaucoup beaucoup plus longue !

I've kept stale bread for making bread crumbs only to find that stake bread also goes off after some time.
52 in 2023 Challenge #38 Stale
This neighbourhood powerhouse had spent a month trapped in the ice and snow as its Pirelli P-Zero proved useless for moving it from the roadside parking spot. The recent constant rain and thaw allowed the predator to prowl again. Hopefully in search of winter tires.
For the MIXMASTER CHALLENGE 12, which has some strange requirements! To-wit: 1) a face; 2) 1-3 wild animals or birds; 3) one of the 4 elements (I chose fire); include no grass; and be mostly in warm colors.
All images are my own; assembled in PaintShop Pro and posterized.

Some might argue that pavlova isn't strictly a cake, but I checked with google and it seems to be acceptable ;)
Either way, it was delicious :)
I finally drew a picture of me in South Kristen's R&R attire that she made for me! I hope you like it Kristen and I drew this in time for the challenge! Drawing my outfit was real fun. I didn't realize how much effort Kristen put into it until I drew it myself. :)

Thought I'd challenge myself to some macro photography during lockdown and whilst the hibiscus flowers are still looking so stunning in the garden.
I was contemplating if I should do this challenge until I have seen a really inspiring picture lately that have given me the motivation to do so.
The rules says bare face with no makeup, eye lashes and accessories....I just want to highlight that my eye lashes is part of the skin...so I am really bare. :)
