An x-ray of my cervical spine which was made in 2008.

I already wanted to take this picture a few years ago but I always had problems with the realization of it. After a few more tries and tips from friends It's finally done. It wasn't easy. It's a single photo, here's the setting. Of course I removed the borders of the radiograph and edited the rest of my body. In the picture it seems like the cervical spine is a very fragile thing which could break very quickly. Break. On the other hand you all know that the CS is a very strong and tricky thing. "The cervical spine is the most complicated articular system in the body, with 37 separate joints (including six intervertebral discs). The normal cervical spine moves 600 times per hour, whether the individual is awake or sleeping.." (from www.nasachiropractic.com)

Many people have problems with the CV. So do I. Neck Pain every day, paresthesias and so on. You can see in the picture that my CV is straight, no normal curvature. This can happen through poor posture. So people: pay attention to your posture.

Being a woman is definitely a beautiful thing but at the same time, it can be physically and emotionally quite taxing too. There are a plenty of things (and issues) you have to take care of and all of it, simultaneously. Yes, you may feel great to love and be loved by your partner, have wonderful kids at home and you may also have this extreme sense of pride and accomplishment for being able to juggle between your household responsibilities and work just perfectly. But there is no denying the fact that all of this will leave you quite strained and exhausted.

Being a woman in itself is challenging. You have all sorts of pains to bear with – be it the menstrual cramps, the pregnancy related pains, the excruciating experience of childbirth or the back ache that is now taken to be synonymous with womanhood. That being said, you have to look at ways and alternatives to get rid of your aches. Well, that’s perhaps the least you can do being a woman and yoga can be your go-to buddy here!

Yoga for women

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise and has been acknowledged all over the world as an effective source for fitness and well being. There are various benefits of yoga however; it is not always easy to perform the different yoga poses. While that is true, it is equally true that with yoga, you will ultimately relax your body, mind and soul. This is the reason why yoga can be extremely beneficial for women to deal with the various pains associated with womanhood. Here are the 5 common pains that most women experience and how yoga helps.

Step 1) Be in the above position for 10-15 hours a day, every day, and 16 on Sunday. Repeat for 6 - 16 months.

Step 2) Now that your upper body is good and unbalanced, start working out with weights, focusing on your chest (which by this time should be about as tight as an offensive lineman packed into a Car2Go) and your traps (which by this time should be extremely weak and almost impossible to activate).

Step 3) Go on a long trip. Preferably one combining several hours flying with several hours driving.

Step 4) Wake up the next day and assume Laptop Posture. Maybe have a yawn. A good stretch in a really poor posture position.

Step 5) "POP"

Step 6) Experience new adventures in hi-fidelity pain...

MRI CERVICAL SPINE

---

PROCEDURE: Multiplanar MR imaging of cervical spine without

contrast.

COMPARISON: None.

FINDINGS: There is patchy signal abnormality in cord, with more

focal lesions seen at C2 in dorsal cord, C3-C4 on right, C4-C5 on

right, C5-C6 in mid dorsal aspect of cord as well as a lesion at

C6-C7 on right. There is minimal associated expansion to the

cord opposite C3. Visualized posterior fossa is unremarkable.

Alignment appears normal. Vertebral body heights are maintained.

Disc space heights are preserved.

There are very mild degenerative changes, including minimal bulges

at C4-C5 and C5-C6 and minimal hypertrophic changes to the

posterior elements at C5-C6. Mild uncovertebral hypertrophy is

present at C6-C7 on left.

There is no evidence of focal disc herniation, central canal

stenosis or neuroforaminal narrowing.

Impression:

Multifocal intrinsic cord signal alteration with mild expansion at

C3 level. The findings are non specific but compatible with

demyelination.

Better smaller. Okay, it wasn't really a fight. It is a pinched nerve, so I though I would take the opportunity to educate.

I had an MRI done looking for answers to a condition called hemifacial spasm (HFS). They didn't find what they were expecting to find, but they saw that I have a ruptured disk in my neck. That probably explains my headaches, sore neck & shoulder & weakness in my right arm this summer!! Unfortunately it does not explain the hemifacial spasms. I will post more on that later. I have an appointment with a nuerosurgeon later this month to see what can be done about the ruptured disk.

Head and neck cancer encompasses a variety of cancers that affect the mouth, throat, and other parts of the head and neck. A prolonged sore throat is the most common symptom. You can lower your risk by not smoking, drinking alcohol in moderation, and not getting an HPV infection. These cancers are frequently treatable if detected early, and the majority are preventable.
