There's such a satisfying feeling as a photographer, when you reach a location before sunrise, when everything is still dark and deep hues of blue and grey, and the first light of the sun begins to illuminate the world in front of your lens.
Standing in the depths of Zion Canyon on a blustery winter morning, my eyes tearing from the sub-freezing gusts, the anticipation is palpable. When the first hint of light starts to warm the Towers and Temple of the Virgin under a still deep blue sky, it is truly one of the Creator's great ceremonies.

Be it for the purpose of cleansing oneself in order to prepare for ritual, or to relieve the tension of negative energies weighing us down, it's common for people of varied spiritual walks to utilize baths as a means to balance our energies. Personally, I enjoy sweet baths as a quick method to lift my mood when I find myself depressed or weighed down by life's stresses. ♥

The "Museuminsel" subway station is one of three of the newest subway stations in Berlin's Mitte district of the same name. It is part of the extension of the U5 underground line from Hönow deep in the east of the city beyond Alexanderplatz to Brandenburg Gate and on to the terminus at Hauptbahnhof. Construction had its groundbreaking ceremony in 2010 and it was ceremonially opened in mid-2021. The mega highlight here is the integrated starry sky. The other two new stations are also already in operation and bear the names "Rotes Rathaus" and "Unter den Linden".

Der U-Bahnhof „Museumsinsel“ ist einer von drei der neusten U-Bahnhöfe im Berliner Ortsteil Mitte des gleichnamigen Bezirks. The setting Sun marks the start of the long, dark and cold winter here at South Pole. The flags of the ceremonial South Pole marker are still up but will be taken inside to save them from the harsh winter months.

The project, BICEP2, discovered evidence of the rapid expansion of the universe (essentially lingering gravity waves from the Big Bang). SPT is the building in the back with the huge telescope. The building in the foreground is MAPO and looks at similar things as SPT does.

First day of the new year and some photographic luck - I had an hour to kill before getting my flight home from London, and I knew there was a New Year’s Day parade scheduled that I was going to miss, but thought I’d go up to the starting point anyway to see what was going on. I noticed some horses and carriages down a side street, went to take some pictures - and then the Lord Mayor of Westminster turned up. They were for him and his entourage in the parade.lt started to pour so they hung around for a bit and I got some nice unexpected shots. Terrible weather for the parade, though, must have been a washout.
