Macro Mondays - Stack
Recipe tiles are 1" square, stack is 1/12' high, image is 2 3/4" on the long side
It's unfortunate that I do not have a tile for Stacked Enchiladas, lol!
Happy Macro Mondays! : )

One of nature's own 'single use' objects ... eggshells cast aside when the chick has hatched, or here, when the human has eaten the egg! I collect the discarded eggshells from the bird nests around the garden .. but decided to go bigger and fill the 3" with a more familiar shell!
An establishing shot of the egg is in the first comment field.

For the Saturday challenge "flower name is first name".
HCC and HSoS ;o)
Wild rose bushes are part of our garden, in beds and hedges. They have a wonderful fragrance that hybrid tea roses seem to have lost. At the moment our red roses are blooming, the white ones seem to be a little slower to flower.

103rd Street station on the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) in New York City. I hadn't spent much time in the New York City subway system due to the pandemic. When I returned recently I was amazed at how sparkling clean the beautiful mosaic tiled walls were.
Before the blue hydrangea flowers fade they go through several tints ... here they are in their green state! So I put them together with one of my latest miniature vases from Yuta Segawa. The background bokeh is the hydrangea bush beyond the window...
Happy Bokeh Wednesday!
When I looked it up online I discovered ....."Hydrangea flowers can turn green in response to fewer hours of daylight. With less sunlight there is less energy for the flower heads to produce the blue, pink or white pigmentation in the blooms. This causes the hydrangea flowers to fade from their original color to green in late Summer"

In Seville, Andalusia, Spain even the stairs are beautifully decorated with gorgeous tiles. In this cultural exchange building, every flight of stairs had different ornamentation. Really made you want to climb the stairs! :)

People in the creamery prefer to sit and eat their ice cream outside and enjoy the animals of the petting zoo. These adorable chairs are still waiting for everything to go back to the way it was before.
In traditional Malay houses on stilts, especially those in the state of Malacca, the risers of the steps leading to the main door would have decorative ceramic tiles such as these.

HAPPY BENCH MONDAY Conversation: Chapter 6.
Neighbor: “Hi Neighbor.”
Wife: “Hi neighbor, how are you?”
Neighbor: “Good. I was curious how Steve’s quest to get a bench photo on ‘Explore’ is going.”
Wife: “Well, he’s seen a lot of good bench photos – but so far no luck.”
Neighbor: “Has he given up?”
Wife: “Sadly, no.”
Neighbor: “What is his strategy for this week?”
Wife: “He’s been pouring through Flickr for bench-themed photos, and thinks the images are at least as good as the more popular bird shots, landscapes and portraits. There must be a bench-bias.”
Neighbor: “What’s he going to do to counter the bias?”
Neighbor: “He think’s what’s missing is an endorsement from a popular singer.”
Neighbor: “Don’t tell me he’s calling bands to endorse bench photos.”
Wife: ::Sigh:: “It’s so embarrassing listening to him trying to get connected to Luke Combs or Taylor Swift or Bad Bunny’s people. It takes about 2 minutes listening to his bench pitch before they hang up on him.”
Neighbor: “He’s trying to start some kind of ‘BenchStock’ or ‘Bench-Aid’ or ‘Benchello’ concert???”
Wife: “No, he just wants some musical group to simply say, ‘We Love this bench.’”
Neighbor: “And so far no joy…. What's he going to do?”
Wife: “When we were in New Zealand on a bench-photographing vacation he saw this band named ‘Kitty Catch-Me and the Rolling Dice'. Their stage is near a bench, so he’s sure they would do an endorsement.”
Neighbor “That’s great!”
Wife: “Yeh, they have a horn player who’s a real cool cat, and the joyful lead singer is so happy Mr. Bluebird sits on her shoulder.”
Neighbor: “Sounds perfect.”
Wife: “Well, there is one small problem.”
Neighbor: “What’s that?”
Wife: “Ummm…they are not a real band.”
Neighbor: “You mean like the old school ‘Monkeys’ not playing their instruments, or Milli Vanilli lip-syncing?”
Wife: “No, they actually are not REAL.”
Neighbor: “Ouch. What is he going to do?”
Wife: “He thinks because there are so many great photos on flickr, people click through as fast as they can to see and fave as many as possible. He thinks they might not even notice the band isn’t real.”
Neighbor: “Hmmmm.”
Wife: “I told him he’s underestimating his little internet buddies.”
Neighbor: “What did he say?”
Wife: “He started snapping his fingers, and said ‘Happy Bebop Bench Monday!’”
The terracotta pots were empty, waiting to be filled with spring and summer flowers. Usually, they have a lot of donations from visitors. Photo taken in early spring this year at Nature Barn. - Stoever's Dam Park. (See photo below with its history) HSS!

Happy 😊 on Saturday!
... having fun playing with white, with textures, and with shadows.
Background texture my own.
As well as just enjoying reworking some ideas, I'm learning PS 2024, and experimenting with how to process high key and white subjects.
Hope you enjoy it 😊

Not just black and white, but the hard and the soft too.
I wasn't sure whether post-production was allowed for this challenge, so I played safe and chose a black vase and a white flower!
The miniature vase is just under 3cm at it's widest point ... and the tiny geranium is from an indoor pot ...

A pebble and a stray feather shot in the natural light through the window. Another shot for my Odds and Sods folder! Collecting 'found' objects from the garden, from the beach, from the woods we walk through .... they are all part of my Simple Pleasures and possibly mean more to me than many bought objects!

Ceramic tiles part of a panel from a 13th century palace in Iran (Kashan). At Pergamon museum, Berlin.

... Part of an art piece.
Part of a ceramic tile showing St. Martin. We both love this piece, but it is horrible to photo, as any light bounces off it. So I did the best I could.
Maybe view large, and thank you for your favourites. :)

I bought these three tiles from a local craft fair and mounted them on these coloured mounts and I like very much how they came out. I gave them to my Daughter knowing she would like them. All good. Stay safe. Patrick
