Detail of a small plate, traditionally used in Japan for sushi. Third in a series of five cat plates, each with a unique cat painting.
Two more of the cats in this set of five can be seen on my Flickr photostream. I have photographed three to date. Two remaining.

Startled at first to see her own image, she then paused and reflected on her own reflection, deciding, "This is a very fine reflection of a cat!".

I call the squirrel "Sneaky Pete" because he comes to steal bird seed that has fallen out of the feeder up above. Yesterday he looked so cute out there I ran for my phone-cam. (Taken through my rather dirty kitchen window.)
One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure
Coila, New York
The two men and 1963 Chevy appeared just as I was photographing the scene - A decisive, albeit spontaneous, moment.
victoire: "stop playing with your dolls. we're late."
monogram: "these are your dolls, and i've been waiting a half hour."
if you look closely, you'll see the fruit is wax, not real.
in the late 50's, my mother put wax fruit in a bowl in the livingroom. i hated it - not just the taste (yes, i did). over time they got pretty icky. when a beautiful new koa wood bowl arrived, and mom just transferred the old nasty wax fruit!
i, on the other hand, have a monkey bowl of plastic fruit in my kitchen - and when they melt, i just flip them over.
i remember we had a tall ceramic siamese sitting on a table too in the 50's - my mom was funny, i'm sure if she ever saw a giant pineapple lamp, we'd have had one of those.
all furniture, and pineapple lamp is from the timelessly talented lizretros: www.flickr.com/photos/lizretros/
victoire is from the forties, and monogram from the fifties wearing a fashion from the sixties - oh well, their colors match.
the artwork by kerry beary was digitally inserted. i accidentally removed her floor and wallpaper graphics, then tweeked the color to match this vignette. kerry's fabulous original picture is here: www.google.com/imgres?q=kerry+beary&hl=en&sa=G&am...

But little Enzo doesn't seem to be quite sure. He's pushing to get closer to make an olfactory determination. In fact, my ceramic sleeping ginger kitty fools virtually all people and most dogs.
Elie, Fife, Scotland.
"Neuk" is the Scot's word for nook or corner, and the East Neuk refers to the fishing villages of the most northerly part of the Firth of Forth.
I saw several ceramic felines in windows in Elie village.
Seen in a window of an antiques dealer on Queen Street West, close to Roncesvalles Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Canada .
It has been years since I've seen the movie, but topic number 7 at the Flickr group #118picturesin2018 said to create a picture based on #BreakfastAtTiffany's so this is my interpretation. I had to have a cat, some pearls, cute sunglasses with a few sparkly things stuck to them, the colors of turquoise and silver, and - of course - the moon. I almost put it in a frame that looks like a window for the guy who sat in the window singing "Moon River."
This is also a good surface for Creative Tabletop Photography.
Charro is a Calico cat sculpture made of high fire clay and various glazes with mosaics of stained glass.

My second attempts at learning refractions. I will be posting others, so please bear with me ... {:o)

Ceramic cat figurine by Lisa Larsson. I believe that this is the original "cat" and that the others are copied from her.
the cat in monogram's lap is her real life cat named "Monkey". the cat on her table is ceramic. the fruit is wax and the flowers are plastic - just so we know.
it's the 50's, so 40's victoire went back to the future.
Ceramic cat fashioned after Lisa Larsson's ceramic cat. These cats were originally given as premiums when people opened bank accounts. There is also a lion, as well as an elephant, made by the same studio.
Update: I just scored a blue Baldelli cat bank this week! Link: www.flickr.com/photos/22363146@N02/5532518770/in/set-7215...

These are air fresheners, but they make swell toothbrush holders.
The tails are rare to find with them, they are made of a spongy material that sucked up the air freshener juice within like a wick, thus freshening the room, presumably.
I actually have more of these in a lot more colors, but I can't find them.
The pic is lousy, I can't find my camera (?!?!) and I grabbed a different one and I couldn't get it to look right, so hold out for a better one later!

This ceramic cat sat in my back yard for years...I think it was a good one from Italy, so I was a bit hesitant to paint her, but I really like her better this way....now she'll be a house cat!!
Inspired by artwork of SterlingArtz
I'm uploading this image to post in the 118 group because the editing on the others completely wiped out the EXIF. I did try a little editing with the Flickr editor, though. Adding the heart in the corner, plus some selective blur, did not remove the data, so I'm really happy about that. Still, I like playing around with my phone edits, and eventually, maybe I'll figure out how to import data from original images to their edited counterparts.
I took a class in off-camera speedlighting this month, and my last class was last night. All of my equipment came, so I decided to try it out this morning. This is my first attempt at using my speedlight off camera. I'm not telling how many tries it took to get one with the correct light! This is a little ceramic cat I have.

This ceramic cat vase would make a great addition to any cat filled home, giving a little decor to a healthy cat treat. (Grass Seed Included). Also good to grow fresh catnip in. The vase is made with high fire, ceramic clay with a variety of non-toxic glazes applied. For an added touch I gave him a collar the says: "Made with Love" and a set of white wire whiskers.
Size: 8.5 L" X 4 W" X 7" H

I was asked why I didn't make any cat leash holders and my reactions was that cats don't need leashes, right? Apparently I was wrong. Some kitties take walks with their parents just like dogs do. However, I'm going to stick to calling this a key, hat, scarf and coat hanger to avoid peope thinking I lost it altogether. I attached white metal hook for durable hanging and two strong metal hooks in the back to easily hang on any wall. I added a real bell to his collar to add an little something extra to his character.
As with all my creations, this is a handmade, one-of-a-kind key hanger that can be copied, but not duplicated. Each piece is lovingly hand formed, as well as hand glazed with three to six coats to achieve the best color enhancement.
