Singapore in January 2007.

We walked all the way down Orchard Road, then headed for Raffles Hotel. It is compulsory to see the iconic Raffles Hotel, and to sample their Singapore Sling cocktails in the Long Bar.

And it is compulsory to shell your own peanuts and throw the shells on the floor ... one mustn't break a good tradition!

Another breathtaking shot...

Taken with my cell phone.

being supremely lazy, sometimes i take pictures while laying on my back. but in the case of this wide angle shot of an empty bedroom, my sloth may have finally paid off.

There is another of the bookcases in our bedroom. And there is the gorgeous ceiling fan that KAK's brother TAK installed for us. And the brand new bedspread, shams, and dust skirt. Beautiful, isn't it? The pattern is Wisteria.

Everyone was out in the sunshine

and a melting, not exactly ceiling fan

I loved this fan, and would love to have something like it in my future dining room or kitchen.

October 26, 2021 - Columbus Landmarks Foundation's Building Arts Studio at Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center

"We are proud to announce an innovative, new program at Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center: Columbus Landmarks Building Arts Studio. Fort Hayes is part of Columbus City Schools and includes an Arts & Academic High School and Career Center on the historic 1862 military campus near downtown Columbus.

Working with students enrolled in Fort Hayes’ Construction Management Program, the Building Arts Studio brings hands-on preservation education and training to the curriculum, preparing students for careers in the high-demand historic building trades. The classes take place in the c1890s gatehouse located at the main entrance of the Fort Hayes campus on Jack Gibbs Boulevard. Students will make headway on the restoration and rehabilitation of this visible, campus gateway that has been vacant for decades.

The Building Arts Studio is made possible from a generous $50,000 program grant recently awarded to Columbus Landmarks from the Ann Sherry Foundation, which funds innovation in public education; and from annual operating support from the Greater Columbus Arts Council.

We are honored to embark on this unique public education opportunity not available anywhere else in U.S. Our goal is to create a knowledgeable and skilled workforce to meet local demand while improving the Fort Hayes campus for future generations." I took a bunch of shots of this ceiling fan in action, but this one, ghostly and overexposed, was the only one that really caught my eye.

This old fan had been in the master bedroom since I bought the place, and it was time for a quick (HA!) install of a nice new model.
