Emily and I slept in this Saturday morning for the first time in awhile. She’s been working day and night either on house stuff of design work, and we both needed a rest. Mom is out of town again, so Dad came up to visit and help us out! It took us nearly three hours to hook up the first of five ceiling fans, but once we got the hang of it we were much faster. Unfortunately, by then it was pretty late, so we only got two fans up today. While we were doing those two fans, Emily painted nearly all the cabinet shells, so she wins today. It sounds like Dad is gonna come back up tomorrow, so I’m sure we’ll be more efficient by then.
On the morning of July 1, I took a series of interior photos of our house at 11024 Silver Dancer Dr. before we locked up for the final time and departed for Austin. I wanted a few shots to remember the first house Mike and I ever purchased before it became someone else's new home. (Our home was a Pinehurst model from Morrison Homes, now called Taylor Morrison.)
Here, you can see a view of the living room, or the ''great room'' as it was labeled on the floor plan. We left most of the walls and ceiling off-white to keep the space bright and airy, but we painted the wall behind the sofa (and the inside of the TV nook) a rich cobalt blue. The ceiling fan is the 60-inch Hampton Bay Brookedale model. (We used to have different furniture in the living room, but the buyers only wanted to keep this futon and the sofa-bed in the den. We moved this futon into the living room and slept on it for a couple of nights after we dismantled/packed the bed frame and got rid of our mattress and box spring.) You can also see a few shots of the furnished living room in our Riverview Home Post-Move-In album...

Here I decided to desaturated most of the colors, giving a hint of a Black and White photo. I stood to the side of hallway and looked down to a nearby exit.

My ceiling fan makes its second appearance in my 365 phlog...
I began with the intent of capturing the motion blur of this ceiling fixture's fan blades. I put my camera on my tripod and snapped a few long exposure shots, but I wasn't impressed with the results.
I snapped this after I turned off the fan, while the blades were still slowing down. The pull chains aren't jiggling from the motion, and the fan blades still disappeared into thin air.
alot of people are twittering. I still don't get it, to be honest.....but
it makes really NEAT sounds sometimes :).
