Found this little place quite by accident down from my favorite sausage shop, Kramarczuk's across the river on Hennepin.
What was unusual was the waving punkah ceiling fans which moved back and forth as if somebody was hand holding them.
I struck up a conversation with two of the staff, and it was a majority decision that we weren't sure of the efficacy of those fans, but they sure were ultra-cool and added to the wonderful decor.
The stylish bar and Asian-fusion estaurant is above a delightful jazz and performance venue called "Honey's" replete with another level of food and beverages.

This is more or less what the ceiling fan in my bedroom looks like to me first thing in the morning before I am fully awake and before I put my glasses on.

I took this shot the other day, but thought it fit Kerri’s group theme of looking up. Obviously, I played around with it to make it more interesting.
UPDATE: One more week before I can try to put weight on my foot. I think I’m ready, but from mid calf down, everything is still bruised, but only minimal swelling now. I’m not in a great place to comment a lot, but I’m trying to look at everyone’s photos. I’m not use to being confined to the house and I’m going a tiny bit loopy, lol. Five and a half weeks until our trip in March....I think I’m still going to be in a walking boot, but I’m gonna make it work. Come hell or high water, I’m not missing this trip because of a broken leg.
So.....that’s me in a nutshell. Hope everyone is doing well.

Happy Thursday Flickr friends! I decided to mix it up a little and take a short break from "serious work" to introduce you to my friend Merlin the Monkey. :) He spends most of his time hanging from this ceiling fan, enjoying long walks on the beach, and cuddling with me. Hope I made you all smile and have a great day!
After trying to reach the ceiling fan a few times, he settled for trying to grab for the ball chain that turns it on and off.
p.s. the complete wreck on top of the dresser is his doing, as well.

While recovering from shoulder surgery, I can't go bike riding, so I found a stationary bike on craigslist. I can now watch TV without guilt as I peddle along. One problem, however, is it's creating occasional dissension between me and my DH. He gets cold, after all it is winter even in SoCal, and comes into the living room to turn on the furnace, only to find me with the door open and the ceiling fan going full blast. I tell him to go get a sweater and he tells me that sweating is good for the skin. :-)

I've often mentioned that I work at RONA, which is a Canadian competitor to Home Depot and Lowes.
When I was growing up, our family business (Pleasant View Farms) was engaged in the wholesale and retail sales of farm and landscaping/nursery supplies: hardware, fencing, pesticides, plants, hay/straw for bedding, containers, firewood, seed, clothing, paint and on and on.
In 2002, after many years in various endeavours (museums, teaching English, marketing, I was accepted in the seasonal department at RONA, where I employed the skills and knowledge that I had garnered so many years before at Pleasant View Farms.
If you visit while I'm at RONA, you'll likely find me in the greenhouse and/or garden centre. I also spend a good deal of time on the seasonal hardware floor.
It's just part-time... a day or two a week, but it suits nicely.
