Thanks to my dad who came this weekend to help install this fan and all my light fixtures! Yay for dads!
Wooden benches, ceiling fans working overtime, and not a single AC in sight. The luggage looks more comfortable than the passengers.
In another venue, a friend asked to see what it looked like flipped, so here it is. The previous version I posted represents the way the image was photographed. I'm still not sure which version I like best. I was leaning towards the original orientation, but now I'm not so sure. Any thoughts?

"5-minute fan" MY ASS. This thing took us 6 hours to install WITH the help of my awesome (and much handier than we are) brother-in-law. Part of that was because our house is old and totally wacky, but I seriously doubt anybody could put this fan up in 5 minutes even without that.
But who cares...we have a ceiling fan now! Hooray for air-movement!

Same abandoned house. I had to lay down on the floor, which was covered in bird feathers and a strange sticky/syrupy substance. I was uncomfortable doing it at first, but like I said, I HAD to lay down on the floor. I liked the ceiling too much.
With flash on, the blades of the fan appear in a fixed location, whereas the blades are blurred when I don't use flash.

My apartment has this ugly air conditioning unit cut into the wall in the living room to cool the entire two-bedroom apartment. I bought these ceiling fans for the bedrooms, thinking I'd save a little money on my power bill. Didn't work. The apartment is old and the wiring does not have a ground wire needed to make the fans work. Oh well. I bought a smaller window unit for my bedroom, instead. It works and my power bill has been cut in half.
Darek is home from school for Christmas break.
