From earlier this year, a visit to a delightful old time diner. These guys exuded happiness, fun, and over all made the place one you could hang out in all day. The food was delicious, the atmosphere kitchy and fun. Don't you just love those expressions?
I am disadvantaged for the moment with my equipment, a hard drive being the culprit and source of my woe. It seems this external drive is not compatible with my Mac, and my original HD has a fried circuit board. (attempts are being made to recover files) So, not much processing here, except a crop, and slight desaturation.
It's nice in the LIGHTBOX.

this is a desperate cry for help...... in the past i've uploaded pictures of this fan and in fact, it may be my favorite fan, constantly blowing down cool air beams on hot and humid days. and in the same past i know ive received views from many-a ceiling fan fan forums which apparently exist. so please, let my message reach you, tell me how to ail my sickly friend... before its too late!!
the facts are these:
-it wont even start until i put it on maximum speed and it seems like MAYBE... somethings stuck/loose in the motor, rotor, whatevers inside my good old pal (thats my hypothesis at least and i dont mean to brag but i'm a junior detective)
-its a lot louder than it sounds in the video
-been happenin for a while now but i'd let it run its course and it would finish in a minute or two
-if that didnt work i would re-angle it slightly (a feature i didnt even know possible until very recently)
-i dont want to call a mechanic because... i dont like people coming in my room : - (
-no clue how old this babe is

Everything we're told says there's some kind of perfect existence just waiting for us to stumble upon it. AND YOU WILL KNOW, like god has just smacked you across the face. Hallelujah!
I guess I just don't get that. I certainly have never lived it. Instead of wasting a bunch of time figuring out what I want, I've let it sketch itself out along the way. If something is good, I grab onto it. I don't spend much time questioning if it's right until it starts going wrong. If it ends up being wrong, well... now I know what I don't want. The big picture gets a little bit clearer.
If my life is any indication, I'm doing it completely wrong. Yet I'm still not ready to stop being me. How else am I going to find my way? My brain has little to do with these matters. My heart has always done the running. Maybe one day I'll toss it out there and it'll be tossed back just like it was when it left. Or maybe one day it will never return.
As far as I'm concerned, there's only one way to find out.

I snapped this picture early this morning and didn't realize at first that you can see through the fan blades that are off to the left and right. The shutter speed must have been just enough for the mechanism to do exactly 1/4 of a turn because the rest is in perfect focus.
I put the first coat of brown paint on the fan blades today. I like the shade of brown on the middle blade best, but it's spray paint, and 2 seconds after I'd laid it in the grass and started painting it 85 gnats landed on it and proceeded to get stuck, causing me to try to save them but resulting in me just squishing them. Eeeerrrghhhhh!!!!
Still, I think the darker brown will work best in the bedroom. I'm planning to add gold swirls, but that will take some practice. :-)
