This is a letter from Dr Seuss on his own letterhead. He included a drawing of a Flit gun. This is one of my all time favorites because of the Flit Gun sketch. Alot of people don't know Seuss was an artist and work in advertising, he drew ads for Flit. This is from a website called www.schulzgallery.com

Well, I WAS going to do a shot regarding my Seahawks win over the Atlanta Falcons, but if you're an NFL fan, you know that didn't happen. I'm bummed. Sad. It was one HELLUVA game though. One of the BEST games I've seen in a long time. The Seahawks definitely should hold their head high for a well played game with the only Rookie QB in the playoffs. They came from a 0-20 deficit to lead 28-27 in the last minute of the game. IMPRESSIVE. Unfortunately, the 30 seconds left was more than enough time for the Falcons to get down field again and score a field goal, ending the Seahawks' playoff run with a 28-30 loss. Great job though Hawks!

So, instead of a victory shoot, we did a wine charm shoot (since I was drinking wine to drown my sorrows). Since our wedding, my wife has been perfecting her technique on these cool Scrabble tile wine charms. She has it down pretty good now, so we shot two sets of charms she's mailing to her brother and one to her best friend. These are, obviously, the Dr. Seuss set. The other set are old Vogue pattern covers and are refrigerator magnets (for the non drinker). They are so very cool!

Now that she has these perfected, they will be an add-on feature to my portrait, engagement and wedding packages. Charms like these will only be used as gifts though because of copyright restrictions, but we'll also be going out together in the Spring to create flower ones with MY photos so there won't be copyright issues and she can sell them! :)

Taken in my PVC DIY lightbox, which essentially consists of a breakdown frame of PVC pipe, and white wedding dress material. The dress material is lightweight, and is opaque but transmits a lot of light. I used to use a sheet, but the sheet was just too heavy and filtered too much light. This white sheer is much like the cover of Lightboxes. In fact, it's nearly the same thing. If I can find my lightbox pictures, I'll post them in the +1.

Epilogue: After fighting these shots with my nifty-fifty, and its limited close-up focus distance, I've decided to get a micro (macro for non Nikon peeps) lens. Probably going to do that today (Monday), so I'm sure my day 14 shot will be a macro shot. :)

CH11 - A Cat's Hat

Serves 24

This cake requires that the order is finalized and paid in full at least 10 days in advance of the date required.

One of my favorite pictures of my niece, Kelsey, and me. We're trick-or-treating around the building where I work and stopped by my friend Sharon's cubicle. She snapped this picture of us.

"The sun did not shine.

It was too wet to play.

So we sat in the house

All that cold, cold, wet day."

#HowtheGrinchStoleChristmas! is a children's story by Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel written in rhymed verse with illustrations by the author. It follows #theGrinch a grouchy, solitary creature, his only companion is his unloved, but loyal dog, Max. The #Grinch attempts to put an end to Christmas by stealing Christmas-themed items from the homes of the nearby town Whoville on Christmas Eve. The #CatintheHat is a children's story that centers on a tall anthropomorphic cat, who wears a red and white-striped hat and a red bow tie. The Pocket Book of Boners - 1931

The Cat in the Hat- 1957

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! - 1957

Green Eggs and Ham - 1960

Oh, the Places You'll Go! - 1990

Despite his efforts, Whoville's inhabitants still celebrate the holiday, so the Grinch returns everything that he stole and is the guest of honor at the Whos' Christmas dinner.

The #CatintheHat is a children's story that centers on a tall anthropomorphic cat, who wears a red and white-striped hat and a red bow tie. The Cat shows up at the house of Sally and her unnamed brother one rainy day when their mother is away. Ignoring repeated objections from the children's fish, the Cat shows the children a few of his tricks in an attempt to entertain them.

October 15th 2016

I was looking for some old photos and came across this shot. I don't really put hats and costumes on my cats these days like I did with Marky and Jet. I bought a bunch of animal hats back in the day but just could never bring myself to get rid of them. This was last year on this day that I came across these hats and somehow I figured Bodhi would let me put it on him. He did but we won't do it again. Jet is in the photo below with the same hat on back in 2008. Bodhi wouldn't be posing like Jet did so that is the difference lighting, I had to grab it while I could. Thank you, Bodhi.
