During a rodeo intermission, children entered a race to be the first to catch one of two chickens that were let loose in the arena. Those chickens were not so easy to catch.

Heavy catch
Juvenile eagle struggling to lift its catch out of the water at Conowingo

I had heard that eagles occasionally visit the pond in our township park, but I had never seen one until I spotted this juvenile circling the pond.
It swooped down to catch something in the pond. I thought it had missed as I could see nothing in its talons - see the comment box. Then it transferred its catch from its talons to its bill and flew around with the tiny prize dangling from its beak - see comment box.
The fish was not big enough for an appetizer or even a beak-full for an eagle and certainly was by far the smallest prey that I have ever seen an eagle catch. This juvenile will have to learn to catch bigger fish, and will certainly move on if it cannot find larger prey in the pond.
The light was not good so I had extensively process these shots, affecting the quality, but am posting them because I found it interesting that an eagle would fish in such a small pond.

Playing catch up with my photos,
This is what I wore last Wednesday to lessons, As it was blooming hot I decided to wear a dress with blooms upon it,
Have to fess up I didn't wear the petticoat to dance in as it was a little to hot for too many layers,
Had a good class though now things are starting to feel more natural
Frosty cobweb in the sun, the single strands making tiny rainbows.
This was our sunny day in January, now wait for the next month.
I actually took some dog biscuits with me on the walk today (which I never normally do, he's not that interested in them anyway) but we had fun playing "catch the biscuit" after he'd caught most of the available sticks!

Nombreux d'entre nous on pu croiser ce lapin, certains sur des réseaux sociaux, d'autres on même réussi a le voir dans Paris et à l'approcher.
J'ai eu cette chance récemment, le temps d'un croquis, mais l'animal s'est échappé, et il court toujours !
