Il Castello Estense sorse nel 1385 come strumento di controllo politico e militare. La prima pietra fu posata simbolicamente il 29 settembre, giorno di San Michele, protettore di porte e rocche urbiche.
L'opera fu commissionata all'architetto Bartolino da Novara, già artefice del castello di Pavia e poi di quello di Mantova, dal marchese Niccolò II d'Este che ritenne indispensabile dotarsi di una potente macchina repressiva dopo un'imponente rivolta popolare scatenatasi nel maggio di quello stesso anno.

La marchesa scese dalla sua carrozza, si guardò attorno per rimirare il suo sontuoso castello.
Imponente, affascinante, meraviglioso, la rendeva fiera.
Alzò lo sguardo al cielo che illuminava il parco rendendolo magico.
Si sentiva orgogliosa di appartenere alla bella regione Emilia-Romagna.
Ringraziò il cielo e si inchinò davanti a suo maniero

Costruito intorno alla metà dell’XI secolo in cima a una collina, il Castello di Grinzane Cavour domina, con la sua bellezza e l’architettura inconfondibile, lo stupendo panorama delle colline di Langa, oggi patrimonio dell’umanità tutelato dall’UNESCO con i Paesaggi vitivinicoli di Langhe-Roero e Monferrato.

Das Castello Aragonese ist eine Festung, die sich auf einer kleinen Felseninsel aus Trachyt an der Ostseite der Insel Ischia befindet. Sie ist durch eine gemauerte, 200 Meter lange Brücke mit dem alten Ort Borgo di Celsa verbunden, der heute mit dem Castello als Ortsteil Ponte der Gemeinde Ischia angehört.
The Castello Aragonese is a fortress located on a small rocky island of trachyte on the eastern side of the island of Ischia. It is connected by a brick bridge, 200 meters long, to the ancient village of Borgo di Celsa, which today belongs to the municipality of Ischia with the Castello as the hamlet of Ponte.
Today we make a small detour to the sea, namely to the Mediterranean Sea. Here lies the tourist resort of Livorno, which is very popular with tourists. However, my visit was neither for the town nor the beaches, but solely for this small castle by the sea, the Castello del Boccale. Basically even mainly the sea.
You'll find a really picturesque stretch of coast here and the castle (which is a private residence by the way) makes a very good photographic point of view.
For the past two hours, as I've been surveying this area, the sun has been hidden behind a band of cloud and most people with cameras just took a quick snap and then drove on. In the hope that I could be gifted with some light before sunset, however, let me persevere. Lo and behold, I was lucky.
I only spent one evening here, enjoying the sea and the sun and then drove on again during the night.
Somehow I didn't feel like going downtown at all during my tour.
Heute machen wir einen kleinen Abstecher ans Meer, und zwar ans Mittelmeer. Hier liegt der bei Touristen sehr beliebte Urlaubsort Livorno. Mein Besuch galt allerdings weder dem Ort, noch den Badestränden sondern einzig und allein diesem kleinen Schloß am Meer, dem Castello del Boccale. Im Grund sogar hauptsächlich dem Meer.
Ihr findet hier einen wirklich malerischen Küstenabschnitt und das Schloß (was übrigens ein privater Wohnsitz ist) macht sich aus fotografischer Sicht sehr gut an dieser Stelle.
In den letzten zwei Stunden, als ich den Bereich hier näher in Augenschein genommen habe, war die Sonne hinter einem Wolkenband verborgen und die meisten Leute mit Kamera haben nur einen schnellen Schappschuß gemacht und sind dann weiter gefahren. In der Hoffnung, dass ich vor Sonnenuntergang noch mit etwas Licht beschenkt werde könnte lies mich jedoch ausharren. Und siehe da, ich hatte Glück.
Ich habe hier lediglich einen Abend verbracht, das Meer und die Sonne genossen und bin dann bereits in der Nacht wieder weiter gefahren.
Irgendwie war mir bei meiner Tour überhaupt nicht nach Innenstädten zu Mute.

Il castello del Boccale, è un grande maniero che si innalza in uno dei punti panoramici e più spettacolari di Livorno, a sud del quartiere di Antignano, lungo la strada costiera per Quercianella, nel tratto di costa chiamato "Boccale" o "Cala dei Pirati".

IL CASTELLO D'AMORE
Tra le feste cavalleresche che si tenevano a Treviso nel Duecento e che contribuivano a renderla famosa come "Marca gioiosa et amorosa ", ricordiamo il "Castello d'amore" che di solito veniva organizzato nei giorni di Pasqua, a "sollazzo" di cittadini e cavalieri provenienti anche dalle città contermini.
Sopra un castello di legno ornato di broccati e arazzi multicolori, prendevano posto le più leggiadre donzelle del tempo, le cui grazie venivano conquistate dai cavalieri a colpi di mele, datteri, noci moscate, rose, gigli, ampolline di profumi e con ogni altra specie di fiori e di spezie (Rolandino) grate per olezzo e per bellezza.
Il "Castello d'amore" che passò alla storia, fu quello del 19 maggio del 1214, tenutosi alla "Spineta" (o Selvana), l'attuale porta S. Tomaso e il Limbraga. Podestà di Treviso era Salinguerra dei Torelli di Ferrara. Furono invitati alla festa donzelle e cavalieri di Venezia e Padova che arrivarono in gran numero con largo seguito di amici, parenti ed estimatori.
Per le vie di Treviso c'era un continuo sfilare di pittoreschi cortei con le insegne delle città che partecipavano ai festeggiamenti.
Tutto sembrava volgere al meglio senonché, proprio nel pieno della mischia per la conquista del "castello", sopra il quale vezzeggiavano le dame con i capi ricoperti di ornamenti variopinti, scoppiò una rissa tremenda tra padovani e veneziani, nel corso della quale il vessillo di S. Marco fu ridotto a pezzi.
Per fortuna si intromisero i "maestri d'arme" ai quali era affidato il buon andamento della festa e per quel giorno tutto finì con la sospensione del "gioco". Ma le conseguenze non si fecero attendere e si giunse ad una vera e propria guerra tra padovani e veneziani, nella quale furono coinvolti, loro malgrado, anche i trevigiani.
La guerra durò circa un anno e si concluse con la vittoria dei veneziani, dopo di che il Pontefice Onorio III delegò il Patriarca di Aquileia a far da paciere e a invitare le parti a dimenticare torti e offese.
Sulla vicenda del Castello d'amore, dalla fonte del XIII secolo ai giorni nostri, hanno scritto numerosi autori italiani e stranieri e varia è stata la iconografia, con immagini non solo nell'affresco ma in codici minati, avori, sete, stoffe ricamate e dipinte.

The castle Catajo is a monumental 350-room building, was built in the sixteenth century by Pio Enea I Obizzi at Battaglia Terme (Padova). It expanded by the same family in the '600 and' 700 was later turned into the ducal palace from the Habsburg-Este family in exile from Modena and finally elected residence of the Habsburg emperors imperial resort of Austria. The castle is still privately owned and open to the public with museum function.
