Well, it is that time of the year again. Time for farmers to put in those long hours harvesting the crops. This is a Case Combine working in a soy bean field. The man in the combine was amused when he saw me shooting and I'm sure thought I was kind of a nut for doing so.
Newly released Neko Case on Austin City Limits. I've had the DVD version for a while, but it's nice to have a CD version of this show. Highly recommended!

NCHD Feeder School Misri Jogi
March 7th, 2015
Location: Tando Ghulam Ali District, Province of Sindh, Pakistan
Visit by: Pervaiz Lodhie

Founding Director PHDF - Pakistan Human Development Fund
This I found to be a jewel in the rough where I saw quality K-5 Basic Education being given to the children of Jogis or snake catchers and charmers. Jogis told me after generations of being jogis they no longer wanted their children to be same. In 2004 with the help of NCHD this school started.
Village Misri jogi is located at 2.5 km from Tando Ghulam Ali, This is basically a case study of NCHD achievements the jogi (snake catchers) community. The community in Sindh belongs to refugees community through their generations they are illiterate and un educated. In village misri jogi during the inception of NCHD in 2004, a feeder school was established with the enrolment of 27 children. During the pace of time and with the efforts of the NCHD staff, the teacher and community 38 children have passed class five and some of them continued their education, two of those children has secured A1 Grade in Matriculation Examination and the three of them have secured A grade which is big big success of this program. Now all of the community members intends to keep up higher education for their children and has realized the importance of education in their lives.
As he was walking past the fresh seafood case at the grocers, Aggie Ring noticed this particularly angry soft shell crab. Aggie Ring jumped up on it and the soft shell crab didn’t want to have anything to do with Aggie Ring. “Damn, it’s angry.” said Aggie Ring.
All of a sudden, Aggie Ring let out the most evil of any Aggie Ring laugh I think I’ve ever heard and said, “Let’s take it home with us and give it a proper “Aggie” welcome in our kitchen.”
Aggie Ring and I took it home and before he put salt and pepper on it and dipped it into some flour, Aggie Ring told Mr. Soft Shell Crab, “Don’t worry. You’re going to be delicious.”
The Jersey Shore Fightin’ Texas Aggie Ring browned some unsalted butter in his favorite cast iron skillet and dropped Mr. Soft Shell Crab in top down for three minutes before flipping him over for two more.
“I’ll be damned.” said Aggie Ring. “He was still twitching for two minutes after going into the hot butter. He really was a fighter.”
