Lichtenberg Mountain and Lake Valhalla from the top of Mount McClausland. I did go down to the lake after this first portion of the hike, but there were so many over night campers down there just waking up that I didn't want to disturb them, so I left quietly.

Soapstone is a soft stone, easy to carve and etch on.

The full circle starts in a garden, ends in a garden, a bit of HDR to give it all umph, for the slide! Got to get your hands dirty to clear the mind!

This close up shows of part of the Twin Lakes in the glacially carved Chain Creek Basin (also called Twin Lakes Basin) on the Beartooth Plateau in Wyoming just south of the Montana State Line. These lake are the largest of a chain of lakes in the Chain Creek valley referred to by geomorphologists as paternoster lakes. This term refers to a series of lakes in a glaciated valley arranged like beads on a string and connected by a stream. These paternoster lakes formed due to differential glacial erosion of more and less resistant bedrock layers. The less-resistant bedrock layers become low spots where water can accumulate while the more-resistant bedrock layers form natural dams that allow significant amounts of water to accumulate in the low spots.

Antelope Canyon carved from the red sandstone for millennia by seasonal flood rains and wind, the canyons are narrow passageways that lead several hundred feet away from the mouth. Antelope Canyon is also one of the most famous slot canyons in the world. Magnificent Antelope Canyon was named for the herds of pronghorn antelope that once roamed the area.

This carved section of tree trunk and root was outside a shop in Sedona.

And to paraphrase Hunter S. Thompson, 'it's still not weird enough for me.'

But I think it's tree-mendous.

The Dilwara Temples or Delvada Temples

are located about 2 1⁄2 kilometres from the Mount Abu settlement, Rajasthan's only hill station.

These Jain temples were built by Vimal Shah and designed by Vastupala, Jain minister of Dholka, between the 11th and 16th centuries and are famous for their use of white marble and intricate marble carvings.

A breathtaking view of the Kailasa Temple at Ellora, where intricate elephant carvings line the base and a towering pillar supports the massive rock-cut on the right. This monolithic marvel—hewn from a single rock—stands as a timeless tribute to ancient Indian craftsmanship and devotion.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the temple blends architectural brilliance with spiritual depth.

In the storm's fury, the castle stands,

A ruin etched by time’s shifting sand.

Its stones whisper tales of love and sorrows,

Of battles won, and lost tomorrows.

The tempest roars, waves crash below,

Echoing grief that only ruins know.

Yet through the clouds, a golden beam,

A ray of hope—a fleeting dream.

Carved in stone, where silence dwells,

The ghost of love, casts ancient spells.

Its echoes linger, soft and low,

Guiding hearts through life's ebb and flow.

For even ruins, though torn apart,

Hold the weight of an enduring heart.

And as the sun breaks the stormy grey,

The castle whispers—love finds a way.

Those are traditional rural leather shoes from Balkans (those ones are from Bosnia). Those are the ones that belonged to my daughter at the age of one year. So the smallest ones made. They were made as tourist souvenir but she wear

them until hole was made.

Seth Anandji Kalayanti - Ranakpur

Ranakpur Temples are beautiful structures carved in stone. For the followers of Jainism, Ranakpur temples are of great importance, as they make one of the five major pilgrimage sites.

The main Temple possesses around 1400 intricately carved pillars, no one equal ..

Palouse Falls, Washington

As the last age ice was coming to a close, a regular cycle began where glacial meltwater and icebergs would be trapped in a huge lake dammed by ice. Known as Lake Missoula for its modern location, the ice dam would eventually and catastrophically collapse, releasing all the penned-up water at all once. The mass of water would race westward from the Rocky Mountains , eventually draining through the Columbia River basin into the Pacific Ocean. This happened roughly 40 times, every 50 years or so over a period of two millennia. Rinse and repeat, as it were.

One of the the landforms created was the Palouse waterfall shown here. Note the layers of earlier lava flows that have been revealed.
