I caught this pooch while whizzing through rush-hour traffic near Division and Wells. Thanks to the sucky shutter response of my camera, I missed the other dog hanging all over the place out the back window.
Back in Babylon.... My carpool mate and I were absolutely floored by the size of the portions in this Mexican restaurant. It was such a stunning difference from the simple Vegan way we were eating at the Gathering. Most of the people in the restaurant were overweight and rather sad. They just talked about mind numbing things like their lawn sprinklers or the cost of cheese at Costco or what they grilled last week for the 4th of July BBQ. It was a bit jarring after having so many deep, meaningful spiritual conversations all week, and so much connection, to be back in in Generica, the artery clogging land of We the Sheeple. " "
Daddy says this was the carpool ready to take him and his buddies to work in the morning. His job was to help pack everything up as the command was downsized in Berlin.
Thursday is my carpool day. Including my son, there's 3-4 kids I pick up and drop off. Nothing makes me smile more than the conversation of a bunch of 11 yr. olds: who's the cute girl/boy in school, homework, sports, and nasty school food to name a few. They never fail to make me laugh. :)
On New Hampshire's primary day I got up long before dawn to carpool up to Concord, the state's small capital. I don't think Obama's Concord HQ was quite ready for the hordes of volunteers, so initially we were dispatched to a nearby street corner for an hour.
I'd never seen anything quite like it. There were maybe 50 folks noisily waving signs at this intersection for perhaps eight different candidates. Without exaggeration there were hundreds of signs planted in the snow nearby. Concord certainly isn't the state's biggest city and there wasn't anything particularly notable about this intersection: this is just the degree of insanity during the NH primary. I tried and failed to get a good shot of all this - sorry.
I chatted with the man sporting the suit and Ron Paul sign about why he found his candidate appealing. He seemed particularly concerned about the federal income tax: did I know that it was unconstitutional? He and another suited associate - both no older than 20 - hailed from from rural PA, and were driving down to campaign in SC the next day.
