Soufrière is a town situated on the south western coast of the Caribbean island of St Lucia. It is known for it's dramatic scenery and hot, sulphur springs. The Petit Piton can be seen towering above the landscape.
St. John's Parish Church is an historic church building in Barbados. It is the first church of St. John that is presumed to have been a simple wooden building, but its date is unknown. The parish along with St. George, was carved out of St. Michael in 1640–1641. But successive churches were badly damaged by the hurricane of 1675, the Great Hurricane of 1780, and finally destroyed by the 1831 Barbados–Louisiana hurricane. The present church building (the fifth) was built is 1836, and the chancel added in 1876. It is the prototype of the restrained Barbadian version of the Gothic parish church, and a beautiful Westmacott sculpture, commemorating Elizabeth Pinder, on the left of the main door.

Marigot Bay, a lovely Caribbean hideaway on the island of St Lucia.
Marigot Bay is a historic landmark, having been used by the French and British navies before and after a number of nearby battles. It is widely claimed that a British fleet under Admiral Barrington hid from French pursuers within the bay, in some retellings attaching palm fronds to their masts in order to disguise themselves amongst the trees however this story is likely to be apocryphal, with no primary source evidence to support this.
The bay was used as the setting for the 1967 film adaptation of Hugh Lofting's Doctor Dolittle books. Scenes of the shipwreck, Great Pink Sea Snail, and the construction of the harness for the Giant Lunar Moth were filmed in the bay.
The American novelist James A. Michener, in his 1978 novel Chesapeake, famously described the bay as "The most beautiful bay in the Caribbean".
The all-girl trio Arabesque featured a song "Marigot Bay" appearing on the album of the same name in 1980.

The Church of the Assumption, situated in the heart of Soufrière, St. Lucia, is a historic Catholic church dating back to the 18th century. Built in 1780, it showcases colonial architecture with thick walls and a pitched roof. The interior features an ornate wooden ceiling resembling the ribs of a boat, baby blue pillars, and brightly coloured stained-glass windows. The church remains an active place of worship, offering Mass services in English and Creole. Visitors are welcome to attend services or explore the church's architectural beauty during the week.
The freedom monument is in the foreground and the plaque reads: This "Freedom Monument" commemorates the bravery of the former slaves of 1796 who defeated the British soldiers and to laud their freedom earned by force of arms during the previous years.

Peaceful scene at dusk as lots of boats in sight but no fishermen or sailors are around. Some boats are hanging out for the night until fishing seemingly resumes other boats probably on anchor indefinitely.
