(only good that I cleaned the windows a few days before :-)
Have a careful start to the new week - Happy Monday!
.....be careful what you touch.
The lime green flower of a Euphorbia Robbiae. It can be a skin irritant. Recently whilst trying to photograph some crocus next to this I leaned on my fist low to the ground and mmust have put it on a broken small euphorbia stem. Shortly afterwards my hand began to burn like ant bites all down my fingers and a welt formed across my knuckles. It took a while to realise what had caused it because Magoo doesn't see where he puts his hands. Better that than a fox plop I suppose...Squich! Oh no!! :^)
(I once put my hand in someone's pudding in a restaurant! LOL )
A little while ago I put up a photo of the Euphorbia bracts forming, you can now see above how the bracts have stood up and opened to the flowers. The photo is here...

Here we have a tour boat circling a bergy bit showing tourist a mini version of what the Titanic came up against. Near St. John's, NL. AND a note to those who made comments: as always you are much too kind but every comment is appreciated. And please note as well because of the distance and the angle of elevation the boat may seem closer than it actually was. But I'd caution all who get near these things to be very, very careful. I've another shot of this piece of ice with some other folks close by that I would like to post soon.
Man nennt den Eichelhäher auch Wächter des Waldes. Ich hatte mich ganz vorsichtig angeschlichen. Aber er hatte mich scheinbar schon entdeckt. Einen Schritt mehr hätte er nicht geduldet.
The jay is also called the guardian of the forest. I had sneaked up very carefully. But he had apparently already discovered me. One step more he would not have tolerated.
The North of Germany is quite poor in mountains, in general climbing in our hills is mainly safe. The Hohenstein near Hessisch Oldendorf is one of the more hazardous places. The picture shows a memorial stone near the Hohenstein telling us the story of a young girl who died in the 1950´s when falling down the cliffs. Hikers are warned to be careful around the edge of the cliffs. Hessisch Oldendorf, Lower Saxony, Germany
Milky Way Night, Florida Keys.
Careful planning and some luck payed off here as I was watching the weather all week for clear skies and had scouted this location earlier in the week. I have seen virtually zero photos of the Milky Way in the Florida Keys but between islands the light pollution is low and I thought this dead tree would make a neat foreground. This early in the year the Core also rises in the very early hours before dawn so I was walking along these tide pools at 3am to set up for this shot. I was annoyed that a tanker truck decided to park near me on the roadside at this beach, but his lights ended up lighting the foreground for me! So happy to have my first Milky Way images this year from a new location.

I do not know how or why the bears got into the china cabinet but there is going to be lock put onto that quite quickly. Gerrie I can most surely trust, but his other pals? I am not so sure of them.

The weather was awful... Cold and windy with a little rain... But, for he school trip, we had to have the view!!!
If you look carefully, you can just about see the 'Arc de Triomphe'!
and carefully, I place her beautiful flowers in a cardboard box...
she sits on the chair... silently watching me...
again I had a dream about my mother. I missed her so much...
every morning my first thoughts are of her...
her face...
her smile...
her voice.
and so I usually wake up crying,

Having carefully lined up the shot of GBRf 'Shed 66703 slowly negotiating Newcastle Central station with the 11.04am Mossend - Doncaster IPort (4E04) containers, I ended up selecting for upload this loco-less going-away image with the containers catching a bit of glint in the afternoon sun.
For those of a certain age, I almost titled it 'Are you ready Eddy?'. Happily good taste prevailed - although it might still be helpful to have a basic knowledge of 1970's Rock! 😂
Comments off, thanks.

"Have you ever heard the wonderful silence just before the dawn? Or the quiet and calm just as a storm ends? Or perhaps you know the silence when you haven't the answer to a question you've been asked, or the hush of a country road at night, or the expectant pause of a room full of people when someone is just about to speak, or, most beautiful of all, the moment after the door closes and you're alone in the whole house? Each one is different, you know, and all very beautiful if you listen carefully.”

The steps of some pyramids that we climbed were rather steep, and we had to be careful when we had to go back down.

Normally this osprey would land with its claws spread out. However, with three very young chicks (eyass) in the nest it comes in with its claws closed. I took this picture at Lake Sonoma, Sonoma County, CA.
The feathers on its throat (hackles) are longer than in other species and together with its white irises, it is these features that distinguish it from the Australian Crow which is typically smaller.
The Raven is found in eastern, southern and central Australia and lives in all habitat types except for the more arid areas.
Its body measures 46 -53cm (18 -21 inches) in length with a wingspan of 100cm (39 inches). It has an all-black plumage, beak and mouth as well as strong grey-black legs and feet.
It is omnivorous though it eats more meat than smaller crows.
It is a peaceful bird showing no aggression towards humans or other birds without reason.
