This car was parked on a street in the village of Cacau Pirêra in the municipality of Iranduba, Amazonas, Brazil, southwest of Manaus across the Rio Negro
(Also seen as Cacau Pirera and Cacau Pireira)
The car is a Chevrolet Monza which is a J-platform vehicle that was manufactured in Brazil from 1982-1996.
Note, the Monza model in the United States was produced from 1975-1980 and was based on the Chevy Vega, a rear-wheel drive H-platform vehicle. The J-platform Chevy in the U.S. was known as the Cavalier. The J-cars were the first front-wheel drive small cars made by General Motors.
The writing on the car:
"Sai de mim" = "Get off me" or "Back off"
"Olhe pra mim" = literally "Look at me" or here really "See me"

This was Ray Johnson's now abandoned full-service gas station on TX-64 at N. Van Buren St. in Henderson. Ray Johnson sold gas (Esso), did car repairs and had a small grocery store on the left in the rear of the building. It was a busy busy place once upon a time. It was also one of those stations that always had a mechanic on duty. Remember those days? It was built in the 1940s or 1950s. Henderson, Texas. 2.9.2012.

Full service automotive repair shop located in the Historic Marine Garage in Steveston Village (Richmond BC).
Marine Garage has been a long fixture on Moncton Street in Steveston. While the pumps remain, today it is solely a mechanics garage under the name of Seppo's Automotive.
The fishing community of Steveston has long featured the Marine Garage on its main street. The gas pumps haven't worked in years but remain on the forecourt and garage itself remains in use for car repairs.

This car repair shop used to be European Auto Tek, my Volvo mechanic for many years. It is now Billups Unlimited, and I think they mainly specialize in American cars. There are quite a few classics on this lot, and Billups, although possibly a little suspicious at first, was nice enough to let me take photos. Unfortunately, the weather was not that great, so I will need to go back when there is more sunlight.
This 1957 Chevrolet Impala is for sale, for $ 3000. If interested, call Billups at (706) 351-9710.

Last week I discovered that I could get a part for my car quite cheaply. When is author my back hatchback has been held together with duct tape and prayer and magic for years, I'm not kidding. But, I got the part, removed the duct tape, and fixed the car.
As you can see, the only challenge is that the cleaning solution I used scrubbed the paint off of the hatchback door. My friend Josh says there's one thing which is certain to generate more problems: solutions.
