The resistance to change to the modern roller doors caught my eye for this shot while out wandering with my camera during the pandemic. Nothing quite scratches my photographic itch like people photography but, for the time being, I just have to find a little bit of a photographic story wherever I can. Stay safe everyone.

An NH Oil gas station in southern Gangwon Province. One of my favorite things about South Korea is the array of clean, neat, and architecturally pleasing gas stations. This is a photo project just sitting there waiting for me to do it. But there are so many cool gas stations I really don't know where to start. And also, once I get behind the wheel of a car I just hate to stop for anything other than red lights!

I can still fill up with 18 gallons of gas for about US$100 here in South Korea. The government here is smart enough to know not to let the price of gas get so high that they enrage the population. It is definitely a lot more than it was three years ago, as is food. But there too, although the food prices have gone up they have not been allowed to tick off the people too much yet. So we're hoping that a lid is kept on the prices of these staples.

Seguin, TX - I happen to be passing through on the day of The Pecan Festival Trade Days in Central Park. A small town (about 30K residents) 30 miles east of San Antonio and 50 miles south of Austin. I was lucky enough to stumble upon a large low-rider car culture. Definitely going back whenever there is a car show. Please correct me if those are not Dayton rims.

Turned my bike right around when this red came in my view on the other side of the boulevard.

On the open road these cars can do over 200mph, but when the road ends, they come to a dead stop!

This cleverly customized Volkswagen Beetle, spotted in Colorado, has been transformed into a utilitarian pickup-style work vehicle. With its distinctive front end, retro beige paint, and a roof rack carrying ladders, this Beetle blends vintage charm with practical ingenuity. The custom rear bed—painted in bold magenta and equipped for hauling—makes this a standout example of creative automotive repurposing. A rare sight that turns heads and proves that with a little imagination, even a Bug can become a beast of burden.

This caught my eye while out and about in the city in June 2018.

A bit of 'stance' with the lowered suspension on this customisation of what looks to me like a Nissan Silvia. Of course the contrasting purple and yellows caught my eye too. Something a little different for today though I can't imagine that this is safe to drive - the front tyres have clearly been rubbing on the arches.

Just sharing one of the none-people shots I take for myself while out and about. Not something that I would usually publish. Enjoy!

On the way to Taos along the Rio Grande river you will find this museum of car memorabilia. When we stopped at his place the owner was working outside on one of the gas pumps that he had acquired to bring its mechanism back to functionality. The museum is mostly focused on gas station items like gas pumps which he restores, gas station signs, gas pump medallions, oil cans, historical photos etc, as well as other items from the early period of the automobile. Being the very nice person that he is, he opened up the indoor exhibit of restored items for us even though he wasn't officially open.

He even rents out restored vintage gas pumps to the movie industry, if they have a need to create a set that requires an old gas station.

Studebakers...a while back.

The Triumph GT6 is a 6-cylinder sports coupé built by Standard-Triumph, based on their popular Triumph Spitfire convertible. Production ran from 1966 to 1973. The final major facelift for the GT6 came in 1970 in the form of the Mk III. This time the entire bodyshell was revised to match the changes made to the Spitfire Mk IV: modifications included a cut-off rear end, recessed door handles and a smoother front end. Only detail changes were made to the mechanics, but in 1973 – close to the end of the car's production life – the rear suspension was changed again, this time for the cheaper (but still effective) "swing-spring" layout fitted to the Spitfire Mk IV. This was a modification of the swing axle rear suspension used on the Herald-derived models, with the transverse leaf spring mounted on a pivot, eliminating roll stiffness at the rear, and thus greatly reducing the jacking effect under cornering loads. To compensate for this loss of roll stiffness, a larger front anti-roll bar was fitted. A brake servo was also added in 1973, and seats were changed from vinyl to cloth. There was still a fairly comprehensive options list, but the knock-on wire wheels were no longer available. The unladen weight increased slightly to 2,030 lb (920 kg). Engine power and torque for the Mk III was similar to the Mk II, but better aerodynamics led to a new top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h) and a 0–60 mph time of 10.1 seconds. Performance was now comfortably ahead of the MGB GT, which reached about 105 mph (169 km/h) and 60 mph in approximately 13 seconds. Fuel economy was also improved to 28 mpg‑imp (10 L/100 km; 23 mpg‑US). The last USA models performed relatively poorly, owing to the compression ratios being reduced to allow the use of lower octane unleaded gasoline. The Mk III never sold in the numbers hoped for by Triumph, and was comprehensively beaten in the marketplace by the MGB. Triumph refused to release an official convertible version of the GT6 and, after poor sales, it was dropped from the Triumph range at the end of 1973, although a few cars were sold the following year.
