L'arc de Whitburn. I checked out this composition nearly 3 weeks ago on an evening when I hoped for some colour in the sky from the sunset, to no avail. So the tide was right this morning and given the last two sunrises we had experienced I was hoping for the same. I also checked the position of the sun at sunrise the night before so I knew it would line up straight through the legs of the arch. I love it when a plan comes together.
Dating from around 1380 this building is a rare surviving example of a Cornish hall-house. Over the centuries it has had many uses, most notably as a Victorian letter receiving office for the village.
It is now looked after by the National Trust.

Had an amazing day at Ian Howells Wildlife Photography hide, his set up is first class and the birds visiting are spectacular, the highlight of course was this Goshawk, seen here interacting with a squirrel! The squirrel was looking for a fight but clearly no match and backed off! More photos of the coming days and take a look at my small video on Youtube youtu.be/_vpLNWLF09o
