La stanchezza in un'avventura come quella in Himalaya si percepisce in ogni gesto e in ogni sguardo.
È un tipo di fatica profonda, che non è solo fisica, ma anche mentale ed emotiva.
I volti sono segnati dalla fatica, magari con il sudore che scivola sulla pelle fredda, le labbra screpolate e gli occhi stanchi, ma anche pieni di determinazione.
Le mani possono essere scure di polvere o tagliate dalle rocce e dalle piante, eppure c’è una strana energia che non ti lascia mai completamente.
Ogni passo è più lento, ma c'è un sorriso stanco che non abbandona nessuno, come se quella fatica fosse il prezzo per ogni momento incredibile vissuto.
Le gambe pesanti da giorni di cammino si riflettono in movimenti lenti e ponderati, ma c’è ancora quella scintilla negli occhi, sono qui, nonostante tutto.
La stanchezza diventa un legame, un simbolo della fatica condivisa per raggiungere un obiettivo tanto remoto quanto straordinario.
Quando si torna a guardare la foto, quella stanchezza è un ricordo dolce e orgoglioso, una testimonianza di quanto il viaggio fosse intenso e indimenticabile.
Kibber o Kyibar - usato come campo base - è un pittoresco villaggio situato nella Valle dello Spiti, nell'Himachal Pradesh, rinomato come uno dei villaggi abitati più alti al mondo - 4.200 - 4.270 m

questa sera, il nostro satellite naturale raggiunge la fase di piena alle 14.19 e il perigeo alle 23.27, il punto più vicino alla Terra, a soli 356.833 chilometri di distanza.
secondo gli esperti, la luna apparirà fino al 10% più grande e il 25% più luminosa rispetto a una normale luna piena.
un fenomeno raro, che non si ripeterà con la stessa intensità fino al 2026.

It was 40 plus Celsius and a very humid summer afternoon. I had been chasing this bird with a tripod and a heavy over-sized lens from the one corner of my garden to the next, for more than two hours. It just wouldn't sit still long enough for me to nail it. Then, when the sun was setting, it flew to my neighbour's yard where it perched on a tree branch. It was facing me, and I still couldn't get the whole tail in. In any event, there wasn't enough light left as it was getting dark. Suddenly it hopped around and in the process slightly lifted its tail. It turned around and looked at me as if daring me to take a shot. And then, as if by magic, the last rays of the sun re-appeared for just a few seconds from behind some cloud and painted the copper-coloured wing and tail feathers, into pure gold. I pressed the shutter release and knew I had my "masterpiece".
A truly magic moment, never to be repeated.

Fresh from the nest. Juvenile Little Bee-eater carrying all the colours of the rainbow.
Although common, they are more often heard than seen and thus extremely difficult to photograph. They fly in flocks in mid-cannopy from tree to tree and rarely sit still long enough for a photographer to set up some sort of camera support. This one was hurriedly nailed handheld and and I'm very pleased with the result, despite the branch.
Photographed in the wild at Franklyn Park in the Limpopo Province, situated on the Kruger to Canyons birding route, 30 km from Hoedspruit and 20km from the Blyde Canyon. The Park is set on the slopes of the Drakensberg mountains near Mariepskop and is a birder's paradise and butterfly hotspot.
The male has black flight feathers. They feed mainly on other birds and small mammals. The name is French for 'tightrope walker' due to the fact that they slowly rock from side to side when in flight, which they are most of the day. This particular male was sunning with his family. I will post the other family members at a later stage. They are believed to be extinct in developed regions.
The Urriellu Peak, also known as Naranjo de Bulnes, under the last rays of sunlight of the day. This peak is one of the most spectacular and maybe the most famous from the Picos de Europa Mountains. The shot was taken from the Pedro Udaondo viewpoint, in Asiego, Cabrales, Asturias, Spain.
I don't really like this shot very much, since the light was not very good and I had to do the best I could with post processing. Now it's really better than the original Raw.

...There are days when I feel this way so I was playing around with shadows and textures on one of my favorite macro subject. I so try to set moods with my photos and I think I got close enough this time with what I wanted to portray.
This impressive gorilla was having lunch at 4:00 p.m., a great moment to see him. His name is Nicky. It was a great January afternoon, with sun and 15 ºC (these gorillas don't come outside if the temperature is under 13ºC, according to what I read). The image is a crop from at the original capture taken with the 1D Mark IV + EF 70-200 mm f 2.8 L IS II + Extender 2X III, for a total of 400 mm (520 mm on a 1D Mark IV, due to the 1.3x conversion factor).
