When it comes to museums, my favourite format is the Living History Museum. As someone who studies and enjoys history, I love seeing it brought alive by dedicated people, not only those who reenact and put themselves into the roles but also those who take the time to preserve history. Here in Ontario, we have a tonne of options for living history museums, but my local favourite is Westfield Heritage Village in Rockton, Ontario. This small village is a collection of buildings from the region from the 18th, 19th, and 20th Century. The day I went was overcast, and the village itself was empty aside from the dedicated staff, but I enjoy Westfield both full of people and when I'm the only guest.

One of the final consumer-level SLRs from Canon, the EOS 3000, hit markets in 1999 and did something right. With full metering controls, creative options and access to a host of excellent EF lenses, the 3000 was a high-water mark for the entry-level SLRs and went on to have two improved models.

One of the oldest communities in the Greater Hamilton Area and once a rising star in the manufacturing business. Dundas is a historic town with a beautifully preserved historic downtown that gives an excellent picture of what a small manufacturing town that made a big impact on the industrial development of Canada.

It's the Ontario Electric Railway Historical Association's 70th Anniversary this year! It all started with a dream to preserve and restore Toronto Railway Company 1326 from the scrap yard. Since then the organisation opens and operates the Halton County Radial Railway Museum in Milton Ontario located along a section of the right-of-way for the Toronto Interurban Railway that ran from Toronto's Junction to Guelph until the 1930s.

Niagara-On-The-Lake has been named many things, but this major tourist destination came from a muddy military settlement that saw almost complete destruction during the war and economic depression both of which aided in it's modern form filled with beautiful 19th Century buildings and even in a cold, dull, day makes for a beautiful spot to visit.

Autofocus was off so I processed this one to make it abstract

June's roll took me to another beautiful historic downtown, Guelph, Ontario. Named for the royal family of King George IV, this company town has a stunning collection of historic buildings which can be hard to navigate, but is well worth a visit!

March's entry takes me into McCraney Valley, one of many trails and parks throughout Oakville. A McCraney family settled in Oakville in the 1820s, but their properties were nowhere near where the valley that bears their name sits. I went with my 50mm f/1.8 lens this month and overexposed the film slightly, although I probably should have pulled back the development time slightly.
