The fog recedes as the new day awakens, revealing another morning of pristine beauty at Pigeon Point along the California coastline.

San Mateo County Coast, CA

The wind was howling though the canyon. Rain interspersed with small hail plummeted the earth as I braced myself, determined to capture the power of this amazing waterfall. I don't know if I succeeded but the experience was exhilarating.

I dropped in on the Rengstorff House (circa 1867) the other day. The morning light was perfect.

Supposed to be one of the most beautiful villages of Spain

Walking around in Georgetown I saw this three-dimensional creation on a wall

Seemingly heading for no where in particular, this road grabbed my imagination, and it was all I could do to resist the temptation to light out to wherever it might take me. Maybe some other time.

A photo of a few years ago.

This morning I walked on this path and I was thinking how beautiful it can be if there would be snow.

Late in the evening. The sun was behind the clouds.

It’s amazing and a joy to observe the many crabs running around and hiding in their holes. Than suddenly, one comes out of a hole, spreading some sand around, hiding again.

Cool and gray. The perfect weather for a steaming bowl of clam chowder, and a crusty loaf of sourdough bread. Throw in a malty dopplebock and I could sit wharf side for a millennium. Welcome to my view.

Happy Fence Friday everyone.

Monterey CA

Looking more like wraiths entering the underworld, tourists trudge toward the hot springs at Midway Geyser Basin. I mentioned the other day that Rudyard Kipling referred to this area as "hell's half acre." I believe it.

Happy Slider's Sunday everyone.

Descending into Death Valley at sunset via Dante's Peak Road. Sunset on the desert. It isn't the best sight in the world, but it's a far cry better than whatever is in second place.
