Eurasian lynx family spending the evening together. Cleaning each other and hugging (or so I like to think).
I am sorry for the bad quality. There was just too much grass and straws in the way. Very difficult to focus.

The wind was howling though the canyon. Rain interspersed with small hail plummeted the earth as I braced myself, determined to capture the power of this amazing waterfall. I don't know if I succeeded but the experience was exhilarating.

We Northern Californians have been lashed with rain and snow of late. This weekend we're expecting an atmospheric river event that will undoubtedly lead to lots of flooding, and with it, hardship for many.
Still, in the midst of nature's calamities there are always beautiful moments. Here is a shot from my front porch on a quiet and serene snowy night. The warm glow from my neighbor's house across the road is a comforting sight.

Seemingly heading for no where in particular, this road grabbed my imagination, and it was all I could do to resist the temptation to light out to wherever it might take me. Maybe some other time.

The Truckee River meanders through Truckee on a beautiful winter day. During our recent draught the Truckee River dropped to a record low level. Now, it's once again flowing confidently.
