Das ganze Land ist von Spinifex Gras ueberwachsen. Es sieht zwar weich aus, ist aber sehr hart wenn ausgetrocknet und messerscharf. Man kann sich ganz schlimm daran verletzen.

The water is potable, but it may taste 'sandy'. Care should be taken not to wash yourself near the wells, no matter how tempting it may be. The same goes for toilets. There is plenty of bush around, so there is not need to be near the well. In this remote location drinking water must not be contaminated by anything.

Well 18, Canning Stock Route, Great Sandy Desert, Western Australia has been restored and is inhabited by these beautiful little golden coloured frogs [Desert Tree Frog (Litoria rubella)], who make use of the corner of the well shoring as a ladder.
