If you have ever enjoyed a glass of Canadian Club whisky, this is where it all happened. In 1858, Hiram Walker an American, chose to distill his special blend of whisky on the Canadian side of the Detroit River. He not only built a distillery, but a community also known as Walkerville. And even though this town is now part of Windsor, Ontario, its name can still be found on every bottle of Canadian Club.
This beautiful building is the home of Hiram Walker’s Canadian Club whisky. Walkerville, Ontario was where Hiram Walker, an American whisky maker, started making his famous, world renowned whisky. For years, I drove by this marvellous building on my way to work, and have always admired the architectural style and detail of this historic structure. I must admitted also, that I truly enjoy their Canadian Club Classic 12 year whisky on the rocks. Cheers to Hiram Walker!

Taken from across the Detroit River on Belle Isle, Hiram Walker & Sons has the largest distilling capacity in North America. This building dates back to the early 1900''s. Hiram Walker was a native of Detroit Michigan although he built his empire across the river in Canada. His rivals in the United States said that he had a secret pipeline that ran underwater from his distillery to a warehouse somewhere on the Detroit riverfront. Along with Canadian Club whiskey that is produced here, the distillery also produces J. P. Wiser, Lot 40, Pike Creek, Gooderham & Worts, and Polar Ice Vodka.
the founder of Canadian Club Whisky built Walkerville, which became part of Windsor in 1935.

So we’ve come to the end of the road, have we?
Another year in the books? Almost, at least.
Another year older.
Another year wiser?
Yeah, we’ll see.
Auld Lang Syne and all that.
The quiet is falling.
Nothing much more to do but pour a drink.
Think back. Look forward.
The night closes us in.
The quiet envelopes us.
We wish for sweet dreams.
Sleep tight.
But keep the gat close. That’s what I always say.
For now, though, the quiet goes on.
Happy Noir Year.

NY Time Square post card from a recent estate sale. Judging by the Ed Sullivan 7th Anniversary notation on a billboard this must have been taken in 1955.
. . . Arsenic and Old Lace?
A collaborative effort, of a kind. Taken by DanielKHC recently in Bangkok, using my new D300. A trial, of kinds, so to speak, of the camera, and whether he should consider one. Shot at 200mm (300mm, 35mm equivalent)and 1600iso (yes, really).
So, it's question time: Daniel is debating whether to move on from his Sony to the Nikon (not any old Nikon, but the D300!).
Should he? He'll appreciate all advice!
Write your answer, below!

And he drinks 'till he can't see

Don't know if this is guessable - there are so many pics in the group I thought to be unguessable which were solved so quickly... so let's see. Good luck! Ask for a hint if you think it's too difficult.
--- obviously this was too difficult to guess. It's the bar of the restaurant 'Tasty' in Berlin Charlottenburg,Brandenburgische Strasse, near Kudamm. (removed from the guess where Berlin group)
feel free to add tags if you find any bottles you know, which I didn't tag :)

I had the opportunity to photograph for a Canadian Club tasting event in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Their whisky is featured in the hit television show, "Mad Men."
