I had every intention of trying this photo again, but the last couple of days were crazy busy, so this is what I’ve got… HSoS!

Whoopee Antique Mall

Here you see my father's placemat with a couple different items. A licence plate frame proudly proclaiming "I'ld rather be in Las Vegas". It's leaning against the Canada Dry bottle you saw in the previous picture. Next to that is a Pontiac vanity mirror. Looks to be from the early 50's. At the bottom of that is a cough drop wrapper that was at the bottom of the box I was sifting through.

ATC Meeting - Tournai - Belgium

It made me feel at home to see this Canada Dry Gingerale advertisement next to the Cuban mailbox.

Havana Cuba.

ok, you guys have amazed me with all your contributions to Musically Challenged and the images you set to the lyrics of the songs i chose for this week. thank you so much. i never expected so many of you to play and it means a lot to me. i love this group and i am thrilled more people are playing again and turning out some wicked shots, too!

if anyone would like to have a look at what's been done so far and the aforementioned wicked shots head over to this thread right here.

i had a long day and i meant to get this up earlier, but what's the saying? god laughs at those who make plans?

"Dreams" by Priscilla Ahn

I had a dream

That I could fly from the highest tree.

I had a dream.

Now I'm old and feeling gray.

I don't know what's left to say

about this life I'm willing to leave.

I lived it full and I lived it well,

there's many tales I've lived to tell.

I'm ready now, I'm ready now,

I'm ready now to fly from the highest wing.

Day 55 - February 24, 2010

Boy Behind The Lens Series - Day 9

I don't drink but I'm the drinks kind of person.

Cherry Coke, Seven Up, Tropicana Pink Lemonade, Ribena, iced tea, ginger ale, apple juice, OJ, iced lattes...I love them all, and like them with plenty of ice.

And for someone who doesn't eat his meals regularly, and usually skips breakfast (and sometimes lunch) beverages are an important part of my diet, a staple of every day.

My favorite drink of all time has got to be F&N Ice Cream Soda (Schweppes also makes one that comes real close). I like Coke after a fatty meal; have an iced venti caramel machiato from Starbucks almost every day; and have lots of water with me regularly to wash all that sugar down.

EXPLORE #334 - February 24, 2010

Mr. Pelicano Restaurant, Sámara, Guanacaste, Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica

1960's Canada Dry Jet Spray Cooler soda dispenser found inside a diner of a long abandoned nudist resort. The resort operated for nearly 30 years & had a major impact virtually all other resorts in the area as many of the members left to create their own resort.

Canada Dry (to be more specific)

Numb-nuts here must have been the son of some Canada Dry exec to have landed this gig.

Later in life he changed his name to Giggles, became president of the Charles Nelson Reilly fan club and was arrested a few years back for selling poorly-made black-market adult diapers out of the trunk of his '73 Vega in Sun City, Arizona.

He currently resides in a flop house for out-of-work former child advertising models outside El Segundo.

Poor Giggles...

Walking around Niagara Falls Ontario Canada. spotted this cool old `Cananada Dry Ginger Ale`box being used to hold open a window.

Canada Dry

a poster by P Fix-Masseau. 1954

out shopping, and it seems the store folk have been busy since my last visit.

this sort of display makes me wonder who was behind the idea.

is this something all of the stores in the chain are doing? did the manager decide to have some fun? does the coca-cola corporation have their dirty little hands on this?

funny that this actually deters the obsessive compulsive in me from purchasing the product, because in some insane logical loop i figure that this is 'order' and that by purchasing a box the 'order' will be disturbed .. even though it would take months before they'd sell enough boxes to have to pull from the display.

and by then the olympics would be over.

and i don't even drink pop.

why am i wasting cognitive cycles on this?
