The first school was constructed on this site in 1885 and named after the Cameron family which homesteaded nearby. This building opened in 1917, soon after the Cameron School was consolidated with Caduricis School.

Among the few remaining features connected to the battle at Culloden are several simple grave stones.
These stone markers were placed by Duncan Forbes in 1881 and identify the site of the various mass graves of the men of the Scottish clans who fell at Culloden.
This stone marks where the men of Clan Cameron are buried. Someone has left some flowers.

An SD70ACe brings up the rear of a power move that is making it's way eastbound though Cameron, Illinois on a sunny February afternoon. I can't remember exactly how many locomotives were in this train, but there was well over 20. Mostly SD75M's and SD70MAC's headed for Glendive, Montana for mothballs.
The Cameron Falls are actually in the Waterton Townsite in Waterton, Alberta Canada. We stayed in town while we visited the Waterton Lakes National Park.
Cameron Gallery, located on a hillside, on the border of the regular and landscape parts of the Catherine Park, was conceived by Empress Catherine II for walks. The construction was entrusted to architect C. Cameron. In March 1787 the construction of the Cameron Gallery was completed.
On the south side there is a staircase: the lower part of the gray stone steps rise between two powerful pylons, on which stand the statues of Hercules and Flora, cast in bronze.

An intimate shot of the waterfall at the townsite, did not bother to set up the tripod and opted to rest my camera on the fence post :-).

70's publicity photo of Joanna Cameron as super-heroine Isis.
> 'The superhero character (Isis) is modeled closely after the main character of The Secrets of Isis, a live-action American Saturday morning television program starring Joanna Cameron that served as the second half of The Shazam!/Isis Hour. The television character appeared in several late 1970s DC Comics publications... The Secrets of Isis starred Joanna Cameron as Andrea Thomas, a high school science teacher who gains the ability to call upon the powers of the goddess Isis after finding an Egyptian amulet during an archeological dig in Egypt, as revealed during the show's opening title sequence. Fifteen episodes of The Secrets of Isis were produced for The Shazam! Isis Hour, and the character also appeared in three episodes of the Shazam! portion of the show.
Powers and abilities
Isis demonstrated numerous powers that manifested when the need arose. These included flight, super speed, super strength (to a level comparable to Superman and Wonder Woman), telekinesis (the ability to move and levitate objects), geokinesis (the ability to control elements such as fire, earth, wind, and water), the ability to change the molecules of inanimate objects to allow people to pass through them, the ability to act as a human lightning rod, remote viewing, and (at her power's maximum) the ability to stop and reverse time.' > Isis, DC Comics - wikiwand

Cameron's passenger station is gone, but the freight station remains. It has a little museum inside, of pottery and ceramics once produced in Cameron... you can find them at flea markets around the country. Also a nice model railroad set up.

One of the competitors at the 2023 Repco Bathurst 1000 was local driver Cameron Crick who piloted car #38 in the 2023 Dunlop Super 2 & Super3 Series.
Crick has re-signed with Eggleston Motorsport for the 2023 Super2 Series which saw him driving a ZB Commodore (Mark Winterbottom’s car #18).
This image portrays Crick at work in the #38 car as it negotiates Hell Corner at Mount Panorama during the 2023 Repco Bathurst 1000.

I’ve known Cameron since I was maybe ten years old. By far I’ve know him the longest of many of my friends. I’ve seen him at his best and also when he’s be downtrodden. We went from barely seeing each other to seeing each other everyday, then a year apart, and now it’s intermittent. Timing, schedules, work, life. Things get in the way but we’ve managed to have some good times throughout.
I remember the day I met him. My parents brought me and my brother over (I learned later it was because they were selling his parents place). Cameron and his brother were having a water fight and soaked me when I entered their backyard. Sensitive and upset I ran off crying and found my way to their bedroom where I got lost in their expansive videogame collection. About a year later I transferred schools and ended up seeing him again as we became neighbours. He’s a year older than I am so there was a break in our hangouts when he went to highschool. When I caught up Cameron helped me out by introducing me to the majority of friends I made while there.
Around the time I got into photography he was building up a band with Graham, Michael and his brother. It was called Fall With Them. I went to shows, we did shoots at rehearsal, on the street, and more. Like all good things it eventually came to an end. Another band formed from it’s remains but Cameron eventually strayed away from music. I felt bad at the time for how things happened. If things had gone differently who knows where’d we all be. Luckily it allowed Cameron to follow another passion in animation which eventually led him to a job with EA, and has followed into a new career with Capcom.
Him and I share an odd and niche sense of humour. Throughout everything that happened, good and bad or whatever it was, I think that the weird things we related on kept our friendship going. Life, work, schedules and timing will get in the way now and then, it’s unavoidable. Things get in the way. But throughout it all, the best and the worst, we’ve managed to have some good times along the way. I don’t know what course my life will take, I don’t think anyone does. One thing you can be more certain on are the people you’ll have in your life. I like to think I’ll have Cameron around for a long time to come.
