For today's post I wanted to go back a little further in time than I usually do and share this before winter is completely gone. Here we have a great wool coat by !APHORISM! in a more 1960s-inspired style. Longer coats for women in the 1960s generally lacked a waistline and barely flared at the bottom to make a sort of A-line shape. Designers liked to make women look more doll-like during this time also with designs like big collars, big buttons and big pocket flaps. Skirt hems got shorter and shorter during this time and coats followed suit and even went so far as to make coat dresses as seen here.

I've paired that here with a example of another 1960s staple by Miss Chelsea; the go-go boot. Square heeled boots such as this style or the Mod-inspired Chelsea boot took over the decade. The go-go style was invented in the middle of the decade and famously worn by Barbra Streisand , and was further popularized by Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Were Made for Walkin'" .

I'm not sure if I'll keep this or not. It's too similar to the last one.

All I knew about this was that it was taken on Wednesday 19th July 1978, but I had ranged quite widely around the west Midlands that day, with stop-offs in Wolverhampton, Dudley, briefly in the centre of Birmingham, and Coventry. I looked up the vehicle on Bus Lists. It had been a Daimler Fleetline CRG6LX with MCCW body, new in 1962 to Birmingham Corporation. This didn't look like anywhere in Birmingham. Then I noticed the bus in the background ...the one dressed for the 14 to Finham. This bus ...the registration looked the same... appeared in another photograph I posted here some time ago. On that occasion kind readers had identified the location as Broadgate, Coventry, an important hub of that city's bus service. This must have been the next shot on the film. 3241 seems to have avoided the limelight: a search on its registration number produces no other photograph on Flickr.

Short mode. Now I need to sort out the saturation/brightness. I've not been pleased with the results of my latest setup, but since it's a permanent setup (I don't have to assemble it every time) I'm keen to keep at it.

Dropping a few grand on a Rolleflex is fine if you can afford it, but if not, most pros will tell you that this is almost as good, and for a 10th of the cost.
