The beauty of clicking an amazing city LONDON at the BLUE HOUR. Reflection of lights in the river Thames & the very tall St George's TOWER .
Australian made Swiftshot box camera from the 1950,s produced by Foster Instrument Australia in a range of colors these cameras are now hard to find and have become a sought-after item by collectors. Body coverings with different patterns and colors these cameras take standard 620 or 120 roll-film which will give you 6X9cm exposures. There is a filter slide giving you a selection of two apertures and a one speed shutter with time exposure.
A little tribute of color on this Australia Day Birthday January 26 2017 Happy Australia Day everyone !!
Thought this was a kind of cool find at the local Goodwill store. 2 bucks for an unopened box (3 rolls) film, 1 unused Magicube, original box, and it's in excellent shape. The camera itself is like new and everything that's supposed to work does. The whole shot was really taken care of by someone, or not used very much, or both. Kind of funny, the box of film has a price on the side of $1.30. Don't think you'll see 3 rolls of film for that anymore. It also has a date of March 1978 on the side.
The B&O Heights Subdivision was a 12 mile line that broke from the main at Blue Island, IL and ran south to Chicago Heights, IL. This line would make a good model railroad with it's many industries, including National Railway Equipment, Wyman-Gordon Co., Allis-Chalmers, Material Service stone quarry, and not to mention run through trains from the Milwaukee Road's Southeastern Line! By the time of this shot in 1992, the Milwaukee was gone, and so was all the customers south of the quarry, but due to the lack of a run around track, trains still traveled all the way to the Heights to run around their train. That's what you see here, cars from factories in South Holland are making a tour down the line, past a certain Glenwood Police officer who was always on the look out for these runs! The cut through the Valparaiso Moraine is clearly evident in this photo. The line is now a popular walking trail.

A random snapshot that was taken up in a deer stand that's attached to a tree on my Uncle's 14-acre property. (January 27, 2025)
My Uncle and I were walking up and down the main trails on his property while I was exploring since I don't get to go back here very often. He was checking out his deer cameras as well as assessing the "damage" on the trails that were caused by erosion from the flash floods from the creek that borders his property to the northeast.
While we were walking the trails, I had spotted one of his deer stands and I wanted to go up there and sit down (taking snapshots) and enjoy the view for a minute before we left. The deer stand is also next to the railroad track that borders his property and that line is Canadian National Railway's (CN) Central Subdivision as well as being the northeastern end of the small Material Yard.
This train of boxcars is on the main track within the small railroad yard. It is part of CN Train L570 that is currently in switching mode; the locomotives are up the line and the engineer at the throttle controls the train (moving back and forth) while being in contact with the conductor(s) back in the main Brookhaven Yard flipping the manual track switches and hooking up air hoses between the cars.
You're waiting for a train. A train that will take you far away. You know where you hope the train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter because we'll be together.
你等著一輛火車,一班把你帶向遠方的火車,你知道那火車會帶你去想去的地方,但你無法確定,然而那無關緊要,因為我們會相守在一起。 - inception

Was walking through the trails of NJ Great Swamp. When got to the boardwalk bridge, this squirrel kept following me. At first thought he wanted food, but now think he just wanted his photo taken.
