CAMELOT & a variety of other moored Alouette River Yachts
Piit Meadows, BC
Canada
This image was captured by boat on the southern arm of the scenic Alouette River.
You can also capture this area by foot, but nothing compares to experiencing this life style by floating into the scene and becoming one with the peacefulness and beauty that 'surrounds' you.
For a little added romance to this beautiful yacht named Camelot, and her idyllic location.....I am including the enclosed reference...
Camelot is a castle and court associated with the legendary King Arthur. Absent in the early Arthurian material, Camelot first appeared in 12th-century French romances and, since the Lancelot-Grail cycle, eventually came to be described as the fantastic capital of Arthur's realm and a symbol of the Arthurian world.

Late light illuminates some buildings in the Gondar palace complex, Ethiopia, usually referred to as the Gondar Castles or Royal Castles, properly known as the Fasil Ghebbi UNESCO World Heritage Site for which Gondar has been called the "Camelot of Africa". In the foreground is the library and beyond it is the music hall and theaters.
Gondar was founded by Emperor Fasilides around the year 1635 as his capital. Within the capital, Fasilides ordered the construction of the imposing edifice known as the Fasil Ghebbi or Fasilides Castle. In 1648, a Yemeni traveler, Hassan ibn Ahmad al-Haymi, described it as a magnificent structure made of stone and lime, deemed one of the most beautiful wonders. Subsequent emperors built their own palaces in the complex and added other buildings including a library, archives, theaters, a banquet hall, stables, royal guard quarters, and numerous churches. It remained the capital and royal residence until the mid 19th century.
The incredible paint finish achieved on the newly restored Camelot shows clearly here as it backs onto its train at Sheffield Park.

On either side the river lie
Long fields of barley and of rye,
That clothe the wold and meet the sky;
And thro' the field the road runs by
To many-tower'd Camelot

Can't beat a bit of Camelot, even on a warm day. The BR Standard 5 was one of the locomotives in service during the Bluebell Railway's Model Railway weekend. Today was much cooler than last weekend and the loco had been making white steam out of the chimney earlier, but not here on Freshfield bank with the 1530 Sheffield Park to East Grinstead.

Digital Realty data centre. Somehow, the vision of all that data standing high and over the surrounding people places seems strangely oppressive, almost Orwellian in it’s panopticon presence.

In recent years I decided to focus more intensively on the lesser known and unspoiled photographed areas of our dear "Old Wold". Even if most of the areas are heavy urbanized there are still places where you can admire a
pictoresque contryside as in the ancient times. As fantasy passionate I love the legend of Avalon and of it's mighty knights and this place reminded me of such legendary tales.
"Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong; that is your oath."

Last month we went to Chanhassen Dinner Theatre and so enjoyed the production of the "Camelot" - a lovely play about another time, another place, where a King dreams of reigning in times of Peace and Harmony. But, alas, human passions and folly make that impossible.
A redesign of the first creation I ever posted to the internet :)
