I am not a calm person but am trying to work on it. It drives my family crazy that I can't relax and do things like have movie marathons but the thought of sitting for hours is torturous. Today I will be still and calm and breathe.
The only spiritual life you need is not to react.
To be calm is the greatest asset in the world. It's the greatest power you can have. If you can only learn to be calm you will solve every problem. This is something you must remember. When you are perfectly calm, time stops. There is no time, karma stops, samskaras stop. Everything becomes null and void.
For when you are calm you are one with the entire energy of the universe and everything will go well with you.
To be calm means you are in control.
You are not worried about the situation, the outcome; what is going to happen tomorrow.
To be calm means everything is alright.
There is nothing to worry about, nothing to fret over.
This is also the meaning of the biblical saying, " Be still and know that I am God".
To be calm is to be still.

There was a lot of commotion at the pond today. Some of the baby Blackbirds started to fly out of their nest and were learnig to fly. I think this one is one of the adult females having some rest between the youngsters escapades. Anybody who approach too close was attacked by the watchful males. I almost lost my hat to one of them ;) When Blackbirds have their offspring is better to just watch from afar.
It was a nice summer on the mountain, warm quiet and sporty....

I went for a walk while my wife was in the dentist at Keswick and just before I got the call she was done I managed to get this. A lovely peaceful moment away from other people.

It’s not often we see the water so flat calm, a sunny cold day without a breath of wind, perfect walking conditions, apart from the mud.
