Daimler Chrysler selected BOKA Powell to design both the shell and interiors of their 130,000 square foot call center in Westlake,Texas. A part of Hillwood’s Circle T Development this tilt-wall building has an Austin Stone veneer, standing seam roofs and detailing to help soften the harshness of a typical tilt-wall office building. BOKA Powell worked closely with the City of Westlake to insure that the design responded to the city development code, creating a series of facade elements that works to break down the mass of the building.
The building incorporates a trellis-covered patio adjacent to the cafeteria to accommodate lunch breaks and other gatherings. This design feature makes for an inviting employee entrance, as well as protecting against the sun from the south side.
Masterplanned to accommodate an additional 100,000 sq. ft. expansion, the facility incorporates a two-level parking deck with a covered connection to the building.

La Provincia di Macerata si è resa protagonista di un lodevole ed innovativo progetto dal nome: "Anziani, non più soli".
Il servizio di call center dopo una fase di sperimentazione nel territorio di 21 comuni montani, con ben 404 anziani aiutati, dopo un anno dalla sua ideazione si estende ormai a tutta la provincia.
Il progetto ha l'obiettivo di seguire la persona nella sua quotidianità attraverso un'attività di ascolto e frequente richiamo telefonico.
Lo scopo è quello di assicurare all'anziano solo e alla sua famiglia una sorveglianza al fine di vivere con maggiore serenità le giornate a volte vuote, combattendo la solitudine pur nel massimo rispetto della privacy.
Le persone sopra i 70 anni possono usufruire del servizio chiamando il numero verde 800.612.612, sia per ricevere informazioni su servizi esistenti sul territorio, sia solamente anche per sentire una voce amica pronta ad ascoltare.
All'altro capo del telefono ci sono dei "custodi sociali", cioè operatori specializzati che hanno il compito di contattare gli anziani e di instaurare con loro un rapporto di fiducia, cercando di infondere coraggio, allegria e facendo trascorrere momenti sereni a coloro che troppo spesso sono lasciati soli ad aspettare il trascorrere del tempo.

Sopra torta fatto a mano, in argilla sintetica (Polymer Clay). Alto circa 13-15 cm personalizzato e reso somigliante in tutto e per tutto al vero protagonista, dal viso agli abiti, ad altri oggetti che più lo caratterizzano.

My work space in the call center - 1981. We were allowed to decorate our areas because customers were never allowed to visit. We were like mushrooms - keep in the dark and fed lots of BS :-) Front and center was our state of the art Diablo "daisy-wheel" printer that we used to access mainframe data and diagnose customer problems.
