I fitted a short M2 screw into the fixing hole for the rear panel in the base plate and into the holes at the ends of the display panel. And then I ran a nut onto each one by a couple of turns.

I actually own a very similar calculator. You add and subtract by adding digits to each column with a stylus. The loop at the top is the carry over mechanism.
