Back at the Wharf Cafe
Today my wife and I decided to walk to Hickling and then along the canal to Kinoulton. This part of the canal is completely overgrown but given we are moving to Scotland this month and have lost the will to keep complaining to and about the Canal and River Trust (useless and hopeless organisation with no interest in rivers, canals or conservation and well being). But the highlight of the morning was the cafe reopening for the first time since Christmas, although sadly they didn’t have any of their delicious carrot cake. Let’s hope they have some before we head north.

with fly.
Wandering aimlessly around the Kurjey Lhakhang complex in Jakar, I walked into a room where a few monks were making cakes.
The "cakes" that they make are not at all what you're probably thinking of. What they do is mix up thick dough, shape it by hand, add decorative colored dough decorations, maybe paint it, and then when dry set it out on altars in temples. Nobody eats them, though you could. I don't think they would be very tasty.
The knife? They use knifes to cut & shape bits for the cakes. Never to swat flies.

place des Vosges. I was trying to get a picture and, being Parisian, no one would get out of my way. As you can see, everyone was really well-dressed and it was the first time in a long (very long) time, that I wore a tie.
