Cades Cove's working Grist Mill. The water wheel runs from 9 AM to 5 PM but I was there early and got this shot with the water wheel locked. I like the flow of the water over the locked wheel.
A view back down from the cable car up Ma'an Shan (马鞍山, a mountain in the city).

An eastbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight climbs Tehachapi Pass at Cable, California, on March 7, 2001. Warbonnet GE Dash 9 No. 681 still looks good, and the locomotive consists back then were pretty colorful too.
Whenever we have visited South East Asia we have found this same image of mountains of electricity cables, the internet and you see who knows how many other things. I don't want to be an operator who has to solve a problem. I must also say that we have never had power problems and the internet works correctly.
Sempre que hem visitat el sud est d'Àsia ens hem trobat aquesta mateixa imatge de muntanyes de cables de llum, d'internet i vés a saber quantes coses més. This was taken on Christmas day that is why there was no traffic. A good morning to get a cup of coffee and take some photos on the way to the days events.

A bollard with two cables on the pontoon that was the base of vintage boats that roamed the harbour with passengers during the 2022 World Port Days.
Shot a day after the Rotterdam World Port Days 2022 - cancelled in 2020 'cause of the Covid pandemic, a crippled edition (partly online) in 2021 (same reason).
This is number 51 of the World Port Days album and 10 of Bollard & Co.

The 1894 Cable Building at 611 Broadway near Houston (pronounced house-ton) St in Manhattan. The palazzo styled plant/building had offices for the former Broadway and Seventh Avenue Railroad Company. The four 32-foot winding-wheels that carried the cables that pulled the cable cars were housed in the basement of the building.1,000 horse power steam engines and 18 boilers were also in the basement. In order to isolate the vibration from the heavy machinery, the basement had to be dug 46-feet deep. The company had a fleet of 125 cable cars serving 100,000 passengers daily. The cable cars ran from Battery Park to 50th St along the above mentioned avenues. The Angelika Film Center is now in the basement of the building. The rest of it tenant offices. It's a really stunning building.I love the carved detail on the course band that's underneath those two rows of windows at the very top wikimapia.org/3638736/The-Cable-Building
