Cockfighting (Saeval Kattu in Tamil which means "Knifed heel cock fight")

. Three- or four-inch blades (Kathi in Tamil) are attached to the cocks' legs. Knockout fights to the death are widely practised. The winner is decided after three or four rounds. People watch with intense interest surrounding the cocks. The sport has gradually become a favourite and a gambling sport.
