The current moon phase for yesterday is the Waxing Gibbous phase. On this day, the moon is 8.45 days old and 67.24% illuminated with a tilt of -32.741°. The approximate distance from Earth to the moon is 373,176.77 km and the moon sign is Capricorn. In the Northern Hemisphere, the right side will be illuminated, and in the Southern hemisphere it'll be the left side that is illuminated. The Waxing Gibbous phase, like all moon phases, will last for just over 7 days. The actual length will vary because of the elliptical shaped orbit of the moon. During this Waxing Gibbous phase the moon will rise in the east in the mid- to late-afternoon and will be high in the eastern sky at sunset.

Craters on the Moon are caused by asteroids and meteorites colliding with the lunar surface. The Moon's surface is covered with thousands of craters. Why does the Moon have so many craters compared to the Earth? Unlike the Earth, the Moon has no atmosphere to protect itself from impacting bodies. R_1754

Tarua Beach is currently a potential tourist destination. The beauty of Tarua Island, which rises in the Bay of Bengal in Dhalchar Union under Dakshin Aicha Police Station of Bhola District, is truly eye-catching.

Nature's form is seen here in the play of light and darkness. You will also find a spectacular view of the Red Sun getting lost in the chest of the Red Sea by climbing the stairs in the evening sky. You will also be mesmerized by the incomparable sight of the whole beach being filled with redness.

Current

May. Rain has been pounding the Adirondacks for several days, and supersaturated the mountains. Seasonal streams have awakened, runoff and percolation feed the flow, all that water finding it’s lowest level and charging the whole Schroon ecosystem. Some miles below the dam at the lake, the river picks up speed on gradients through boulder fields, now inundated and drowned under the flow. They are immovable, their resistance invisible but for the standing waves throughout the volume. A light mist hovers above the raging current. Standing this close, I can feel the vibration of it’s power, urging my blood pressure higher to match the atmosphere I’m in. Here is spring as allegory to life, the relentless wildness of youth, bursting to race ahead towards that age when you don’t. What I wouldn’t give to truly feel that voltage again, and know the trajectory of where I was headed, instead of treading, spent, looking back at where I’ve come. I stay awhile on the edge of the surge, enjoying the power of the season.

I'm no wave expert, but two wave patterns seemed to be happening at once in the lake when I took this.

The winds were blowing basically left-to-right, and they seemed to be the source of the ephemeral blue waves on top.

The lake currents (it's basically a wide part of a river) were flowing right-to-left at the same time, and those waves are the steely-gray waves below the blue ones.

If you know wave behavior, I'd love to hear what you think about this.

The watermill Lippholthausen (Schloßmühle Lippholthausen) in the Lippholthausen district of Lünen is a grain mill built in 1760 near the river Lippe. The watermill of the former Buddenburg noble house is a late Baroque half-timbered building, not far from the former Buddenburg Castle.

From the 14th century until 1902, the Buddenburg house was owned by the Frydag family of Buddenburg. The Frydags belong to the very old Westphalian nobles. The family is mentioned for the first time in 1198.

Around 1535, the noble family built a watermill south of Brunnenstraße and opposite Schlossallee. At the former river Henebecke a large millpond was excavated.

Afterwards, the runs of the creek Henebecke, Sadbecke, Wilbecke and Seltenbecke were diverted so that they flowed directly into the new millpond and fed it with water.

After the mill had been completed and put into operation, the farmers in the area of the thirlage "Buddenburg Mahlzwang" had to come to the castle mill to have their grain ground.

Nothing remains of the mill built at the beginning of the 16th century. However, the current mill building already has a considerable number of years on the hump: It was built in 1760 by Wessel Giesbert von Frydag.

In 1903, Haus Buddenburg and the mill were inherited by the Rüxleben family. The latter finally sold the property to the city of Lünen in 1913. Until 1930 grain was ground in the castle mill.

The old mill pond above the castle mill is no longer present, it was filled in 1938 during the construction of the Lippewerk. A loss for trippers, they could sail around on the pond with paddle boats.

Until the end of the 1970s, the House of Buddenburg, which also included the castle mill, stood in the district of Lippholthausen, now part of Lünen.

The Mühlenfreunde Lippholthausen e. V. restored and maintains the mill, which currently serves as an excursion restaurant and can also be used for weddings. It was placed under monument protection in 1985.

A rare Sunday run of Ohio Central's empty Conesville to Burr Oak coal train made a late evening appearance on the former W&LE main in Dresden, Ohio, on Jan. 6, 2019. These coaltrains are expected to stop running later this year as the AEP Conesville powerplant will close by May 2020. Loading at Burr Oak, south of New Lexington, Ohio, this is the only traffic that currently runs on the former W&LE from Trinway to Zanesville, so this portion of the line will likely be mothballed.

St. Petri in Lübeck, first mentioned in 1170, is the cultural and university church of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. After several reconstructions, St. Petri was given its current architectural form as a five-aisled Gothic hall church in the 15th century and has been a Protestant church since the Reformation in Lübeck in 1530.

In March 1942, the church was badly damaged by a British bombing raid and burned down completely. After restoration, St. Petri was only reopened as a church for the whole city in 1987 and is now a place for art and culture, for science and discussion. During Advent, an arts and crafts Christmas market is held in St. Petri. From the tower of the church you have an overview of the whole of Lübeck's old town.

**my apologies for my lack of commenting. I have been so tired by nightfall that I can't think.

I will resume asap.

Last week I visited the wildlife park and although I missed the "Bird of Prey Show" I lucked out because the keeper talked to someone he know and I got the chance to ask for some portrait pictures.

Windmills have become part of the Canarian landscape, silent witnesses of a past in which they played an important role in the economy of the islands. In the case of Fuerteventura, they existed profusely because this typology is developed mainly in arid or desert regions, taking the wind as a source of energy, to make up for the lack of water currents. To this contributed the almost permanent presence of air currents in the islands and the orography of the island, characterized by vast plains only "interrupted" by these peculiar constructions.

Their typologies are made up of two very different types, but one of them predominates numerically. The most abundant is defined by an architectural structure of flat circular plant, with truncated cone shape made of masonry, topped by an irregular conical or pyramidal wooden roof of which one of its parts is open to give exit to the axis of the blades. The interior is divided into two floors, with access to the upper floor by an interior staircase, in some cases, or exterior, in others. The other typology, of which there are fewer examples, is defined by a quadrangular building, on which rises a tower made with a framework of wooden railings, which supports the blades. In the center of the tower descends an axis that connects the gearing of the blades with the stones.

This squirrel in my yard 3-5 days after leaving its tree cavity may now be my current "yard squirrel." It found my squirrel feeder immediately. All of my yard squirrels over the years proved to be females.

This photo of the Chribska waterfall in Bohemian Switzerland is not current. It wasn't even made in the fall but in February of last year.

Luckily you can't tell from the scene and so I can easily incorporate it into the autumn pictures.

The two-stage waterfall is not particularly spectacular with a total height of only around 3 meters. Instead, it is a small but beautiful piece of jewelry here in the middle of the forest.

Maybe I'll drive by there again in the next few days and see what else can be photographed here.

I think it's nice to take photos from the past from time to time. This reminds me of the beautiful places I have already been and inspires me to visit some of them again.
