This bird flew very close past the boat I was in, so it was virtually frame filling. No idea how I managed to keep it all in the frame!

With the lack of opportunity to move freely during Covid 19, I decided to take a series of shots of reflections in the local streams, ponds, ditches and a short stretch of the River Thames.

My favourite tree on the Midland Highway, which connects between Hobart and Launceston in Tasmania, Australia.
I've photographed this tree on several occasions. Each time I do I notice subtle differences and deterioration in the health of the tree. A few less limbs, broken branches, etc. This grand old lifeform is reaching the end of its lifespan.
This image was taken nearly a year ago - I really have to take another shot to capture its current stand.

IORY 1 year ago looked completely different than it does now, the yellow SD60s took over quite quickly and it's definitely reduced my reasons to photograph the railroad, but sometimes you just end up doing it anyways out of boredom.

Tayrona National Natural Park - This park is a protected area along Colombia's northern Caribbean shores. Along with it's beautiful blue water are mountainous hiking trails up to the ruins of Pueblito. The ruins were built by the Tayrona civilization.
These Caribbean waters are very turbulent in many places. On one of the days that I was there, a swimmer got pulled out by current undertows. It was touch and go for this guy for several hours. Everyone watched in horror as several rescue attempts were made. Eventually a jet ski pulled him out. Exhausted and freaked out he never got in the water again.
No motorized vehicles are allowed so you have to hike in with all of your camping gear or have supplies carried in by horses
Currently the largest mosque in Turkey, the Grand Çamlıca Mosque (Turkish pronunciation: [tʃamlɯdʒa]) (Turkish: Büyük Çamlıca Camii) is a complex for Islamic worship which was completed and opened on 7 March 2019. The mosque stands astride Çamlıca Hill in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul and is visible from much of the centre of the city. The complex incorporates an art gallery, library, and conference hall. It can hold up to 63,000 worshippers at a time (can accommodate up to 100,000 people in case of an earthquake).
The cost of the mosque was US$110 million (approx. 550 million Turkish liras at the time). Planning for the Çamlıca Mosque began in the year 2000 and was led by two female architects, Bahar Mızrak and Hayriye Gül Totu. Their design won second prize in a competition to come up with something suitable.
The mosque was officially inaugurated on 3 May 2019 by the current President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Several world leaders were present at the ceremony including Senegalese President Macky Sall, Guinean President Alpha Conde, Albanian president Ilir Meta, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh and other foreign dignitaries.
Çamlıca Mosque was only the third mosque in Turkey to have six minarets, after the Sultanahmet (Blue) Mosque in Istanbul and the Sabancı Merkez Mosque in Adana.
In 2022 work was under way to add a spur to the M5 Metro line from Üsküdar to include a stop at the Çamlıca Mosque.

May. Rain has been pounding the Adirondacks for several days, and supersaturated the mountains. Seasonal streams have awakened, runoff and percolation feed the flow, all that water finding it’s lowest level and charging the whole Schroon ecosystem. Some miles below the dam at the lake, the river picks up speed on gradients through boulder fields, now inundated and drowned under the flow. They are immovable, their resistance invisible but for the standing waves throughout the volume. A light mist hovers above the raging current. Standing this close, I can feel the vibration of it’s power, urging my blood pressure higher to match the atmosphere I’m in. Here is spring as allegory to life, the relentless wildness of youth, bursting to race ahead towards that age when you don’t. What I wouldn’t give to truly feel that voltage again, and know the trajectory of where I was headed, instead of treading, spent, looking back at where I’ve come. I stay awhile on the edge of the surge, enjoying the power of the season.
A view of the Lincoln Theater, last known as the Lincoln Grand 8, in the 200 block of S. Kickapoo St. in downtown Lincoln. The architectural style of the original theater is Italian Villa, a design that is typically asymmetrical while the Italianate style emphasizes symmetry. The Lincoln Theater is a contributing property in the Lincoln Courthouse Square Historic District that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985
.
The Lincoln Theater opened in early-1923 with the Lon Chaney film “John Quincy Adams Sawyer”. In addition to cinema, the theater featured an organ and live stage shows well into the 1930’s. In 1985, the Lincoln Theater was twinned, and was turned into a quad in the mid-1990s. A $6M addition in 2016 added four more screens, 775 seats, a new lobby and exterior streetscape. Rechristened as the Lincoln Grand 8, the theater closed in late 2018 after the owners defaulted on a $3.9M bank loan. Additionally, the city of Lincoln, which had bet on the theater project helping to attract more business and customers downtown, was out $2.3M in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) bond proceeds.
As of October 2020, the Lincoln Grand 8 Theater is on the market for $1.2M. The sale includes more than 42,000 square feet spread among three buildings - the original theater which opened in 1922, the 2016 addition, and a 1920s-built commercial building at the corner of S. Kickapoo and Clinton St.
Although the current pandemic environment has not been disastrous to cinemas, hopefully the theater will find a buyer.
Lincoln is the seat of Logan County, which is situated in central Illinois approximately 26 miles northeast of Springfield, the state capitol. The estimated population of Lincoln in 2018 was 13,685.
The town of Czarnków is located on the Noteć river, on the edge of the Noteć Forest and the edge of the moraine plateau. The location of the city creates picturesque landscapes, which extend from the moraine donations above the city. On one of the hills, a viewpoint of the city and the Noteć river valley was created.
The city currently has about 11 000 residents.
The most valuable monuments in Czarnków include the St. Magdalena from the 14th century, the urban layout of the city and the town hall from the 19th century.

Do najcenniejszych zabytków w Czarnkowie należy kościół sw. Magdaleny z XIV w., układ urbanistyczny miasta oraz ratusz z XIX wieku.
A view looking north on N. Main St. from E. Washington St. on the southeast corner of Bloomington's Courthouse Square. To the left is the old McLean County Courthouse, now a museum. This site was home to three previous courthouses built in 1831, 1836 and 1868. The Great Fire of 1900 destroyed the 1868 courthouse, along with 45 other buildings in the core of downtown Bloomington to little more than smoking rubble.
The courthouse shown here was designed by William Reeves and John M. Baile of the Peoria firm Reeves and Baile. The Classical Revival style structure was completed in 1903.
The fifth and current McLean County Courthouse, a modern design located 2 blocks south of this location, was completed in 1977. The courts were the first to move to the new building but until 1991, general county offices were still housed in the old courthouse. The McLean County Historical Society relocated its museum here in 1988, and today all 4 floors of the building are occupied by the McLean County Museum of History for exhibits, collections storage, and offices.
The McLean County Courthouse and Square was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and encompasses the old McLean County Courthouse and the courthouse-facing sides of Washington St. to the south, Center St. to the west, and Jefferson St. to the north. The historic buildings to the east of the old courthouse on the N. Main St. side of the square were destroyed by fire in the 1985. Today a contemporary office building occupies the site.
This view also shows a large section of the north side of the Courthouse Square on W. Jefferson St., along with the west side of N. Main St. all the way to the tower of the Art-Deco styled Holy Trinity Church at N. Main and W. Chestnut streets. Nearly every building in this view is listed by itself or as part of a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places.
Bloomington is the seat of McLean County. It is adjacent to Normal, and is the more populous of the two principal municipalities of the Bloomington-Normal metropolitan area. Bloomington is 135 miles (217 km) southwest of Chicago, and 162 miles (261 km) northeast of St. Louis. The estimated population of Bloomington in 2019 was 77,330, with a metro population of 191,067.

The current Romanesque and Gothic form of the cathedral, seen today in the Stephansplatz, was largely initiated by Duke Rudolf IV (1339–1365) and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first a parish church consecrated in 1147. The most important religious building in Vienna, St. Stephen's Cathedral, has witnessed many important events in Habsburg and Austrian history and has become one of the city's most recognizable symbols with its multi-colored tile roof. It has 256 stairs from the top to the bottom

Last week I visited the wildlife park and although I missed the "Bird of Prey Show" I lucked out because the keeper talked to someone he know and I got the chance to ask for some portrait pictures.
Currently located just outside the boundaries of Snæfellsjökull National Park, the town of Hellnar is the largest of the fishing villages on the south side of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland. It has been that way for centuries. A church was first built at this site in the village in 1833. The church in the photo was constructed in 1945.
Cape Flattery, Neah Bay, Washington
The road ends and the world begins. Or so it seems in this remote corner of Washington, where I stood on the northwestern-most tip of the contiguous United States. An hours long drive from almost everywhere, this is the place the native Makah tribe (who graciously allows public access to this area of their ancestral and current homeland) calls “The Beginning of the World”.
And though I have been to many beautiful places on the Washington coast, this one is special. It feels wild and rugged here, looking out at the vastness of the Pacific Ocean while wind whips the trees and waves crash against the rocky cliffs below. Here, the land ends, and the siren call of the sea beckons life to begin.
