While walking in the woods in early Spring if the hair on the back of your neck suddenly stands up and you get that odd sensation of being watched, well then pause for a while and look high up on the trees around you. You may find yourself closely watched by a set of curious eyes. Great Horned Owlets in High Park, Toronto.
This week's theme for Mosaic Montage Monday was Curious. Maybe we are still asking the same question! HMMM!
Sometimes I sit on a meadow and suddenly have the feeling that I'm being watched. That's not really surprising as there are probably thousands of eyes which see me but I don't see them. Today I noticed at least one of these eyes, it belonged to a damselfly who was hiding behind a leaf while watching me. I tried to take a photo but in the long grass it wasn't easy to get a more or less unhindered view on my curious little friend.

These young curious cows came towards me while I was taking a picture of them. Zunderdorp, 2016.
All the recent years were difficult for the cow farmers in the Netherlands (milk quota). And still that does not stop (phosphate numbers).
Thank you very much for your visits, faves and kind comments.

46115 Scots Guardsman heads south at Wharton Dikes on 15/8/2010.
Just to the right of the engine can be seen a guardrail and warning signs for a foot crossing.I didn't notice this when I took the shot and wasn't aware there was a crossing there until a recent discussion with fellow Flickerite Henry Elliott.Access was through a farmyard and orchard but I can't find any trace of a public footpath there and the minor road to Bullgill goes under the line nearby so there was little need for a private crossing. Chatting to the farmer there last week(Sept 2021) he said it has since been closed by Network Rail.
Henry has now linked the shot he got before the crossing was removed

Curious cattle wondering what I'm doing out in the middle of nowhere in the cold wind. It took my hands several minutes to warm up and stop hurting after I hopped back in my car.

I believe these Atlantic Puffins were as curious about the folks in blinds on Machias Seal Island as we were of them. The 4 of us in our blind were staring at them... and the 4 of them were staring right back :-)
This cub wanted to come check out my little den but I told him he needed to go downriver and catch up with his mom.
His mom was down in the water way over to the right and out of the frame. I'd been standing on the porch of my cabin waiting for the two of them to head on downriver so I could go get some coffee.
But this little guy was so curious and walked up close to my porch where I was standing. Don't worry, I was right by my door and could have stepped in very quickly.
He was just curious and wanted to check me out for a second and then went on down the way to catch up with mom.

Who mentioned to never to take a photo off the back of animals? Impossible if they gear up this way!
