Hello,
Aloha Bricks Team is pleased to present you its new two-part building guide #CSS160:
The Apollo 17 Mission Commander Eugene Cernan's Spacesuit.
The first part is an alternate design of Lego set #31152 and concerns the 1/7.8 scale astronaut build with 659 Lego bricks. Of course, this astronaut will fit perfectly into the Lego LRV set #42182 or simply on its support.
You'll be able to build it by using two different brick lists (.xml style):
- Either by using 72.5% of bricks from the Lego set #31152 (set cost around €50) and adding 181 additional common bricks (Bricklink average cost: €18).
- Or by buying all of the 659 bricks of the astronaut design (Bricklink average cost: €46).
- A printable decal sheet is also included in this building guide.
The second part concerns changes and additions on the LRV Lego set #42182:
- Four mandatory modifications so that the astronaut can fit perfectly on the LRV:
Modifications of the central control panel, the footboards, the seats by moving them back and also by adding a fixing element between the astronaut and the seat.
These changes do not require disassembling the structure of the original LRV set. They are just simple and partial changes.
- The other updates will be optional:
Modifications of the rounded arches on the sides of the chassis, the color TV camera and the 16mm film camera with an addition of a support to be able to fix it to the astronaut, some additions of "Tile" bricks on the base of the chassis and also a mini tutorial where you can add a gold metal mesh to the high gain antenna using the Chase Kesner's awesome original design!
With the third brick list (.xml style) you’ll be able to buy the 100 common bricks needed for the overall LRV updates (Bricklink average cost: €16).
This 211-page booklet (.pdf) is now on sell and only available on request by email here: aloha.bricks@gmail.com
Cheers 😊
The Aloha Bricks Team
