Photos of The Crossroads project as it develops.

The Crossroads project is an initiative to build an ecologically sustainable community, with excellent facilities for medieval activities.

Our goal is to build a medieval village on our property at Yass, New South Wales, Australia. We wish to foster traditional crafts and skills, establish partnerships with a variety of national organisations for pre-industrial crafts, for instance in woodwork, pottery, blacksmithing and embroidery.

The physical site of Crossroads is 453 acres of land, and the plan is to develop the site to have Visitor cabins to accommodate 60 people, a kitchen/dining hall, and associated amenities, a replica of the small French medieval castle, Chalencon, and its associated village, a residential subdivision with a medieval theme and a centre for Heritage Crafts.

The site is already being used regularly by medievalists for fairs, festivals and activities such as archery as well as weddings and parties, and is available for hire by the public.
